The Biker’s Mafia Princess (Angel and Savage) novel Chapter 3

Harmony POV.

I do a happy dance as I leave the conference room with my momma behind me.

“You did it, baby. We are so proud of you.” Momma hugs me and we both squeal, jumping up and down together.

My family are my biggest supporters and are always pushing Harry and me to always do our best.

“Miss Harmony, miss Harmony.” I pull away from my momma and we both look down, seeing Melody.

“Hi honey, are you ok?” I ask her as I move to look at her and she is beautiful. I can’t believe her mom just gave her away. I could never do something like that. But from what momma said, it was the right decision for her. She would have been in so much danger because of her mom.

“Yup, I had fun at story time with my daddy today. It was fun.” She jumps and down full of energy and I smile at her and momma chuckles.

“I’m so glad you had a fun time. Did you make new friends?” I ask her, and she smiles and nods her head. God, she is so adorable. I just want to scoop her up and cuddle her all day.

“Uh-huh. I made some new friends. I never had friends before.” She looks away sadly and I look up at my momma and I can see she knows how that feels.

“Oh sweetheart, I will be your friend and I know you will have so many friends soon. They will just love you, Melody.” I say and have the urge to hug her, so I do. At first she stiffens, then wraps her tiny arms around the back of my neck and I pick her up and cradle her to my chest. My heart breaks for her.

The doors to the conference room open, and I turn and see Maverick watching me. His face softens seeing me holding his daughter. He smiles softly and walks towards us.

“I’m sorry, she looked like …”

“There is no need to explain. Other than me, she isn’t very forthcoming with new people. She trusts you and feels comfortable with you.” I look at him and blink. Well, that should be a cause for concern. Melody only met me this morning and shouldn’t be this comfortable with someone new.

Then again, thinking about where she came from, it is no wonder. She is an innocent child and her mom should have protected her from anything and anyone who could hurt her, and she didn’t. It makes me so mad.

If I ever meet this Felicity woman, I will hurt her. I am not a violent person by nature, but I can fight when needed. Harry can agree with that. We used to wrestle and play fight growing up. We never took it too far. Momma had trained us growing up.

Dads had a fit when they found me and Harry shooting at the target range at the back of the clubhouse when I was thirteen.

Harry’s logic was learning to defend yourself and firing a gun is like a condom. Yeah, I looked at him funny too. He explained that it is better to have one and not need it than to need it and not have it. So we learnt together.

I try to be the reasonable one. Talk first like adults rather than resorting to fisty cuffs. Whereas Harry, dad’s and momma will shoot first and ask questions later.

“Daddy, can I stay with miss Harmony for a while longer, please?” Melody says, twisting in my hold and I look at Maverick not knowing what to do.

All the kids in the clubhouse love me and I am always the designated babysitter. I don’t mind it. I love the little rascals.

“It’s no problem. I was going to help Michelle wrangle the boys, anyway.” I say, showing him it is no big deal.

“You listen to miss Harmony, ok? We will be heading home soon. You, munchkin, have school tomorrow.” He says and her face lights up and I gasp, making an even bigger deal out of it.

“School, oh wow. You will love it. Come on, tell me all about it while we find aunty Michelle.” I say and walk away carrying Melody. She is so light. I can hear my momma chuckle as she tells Maverick how I love kids. She isn’t wrong. One day I want to have a whole football team.

“My teacher seems nice and the kids, well, they seem nice too.” Melody tells me and I smile as we walk outside to the play area pop-pop had installed and it is maintained by the club. There are Michelle and her babies and some of the other club kids and their moms.

“HARMONY!” they scream and come running like I’m the pied piper of the little devils.

“Hi kids, you all know Melody?” I ask them and some nod their heads, some watch Melody curiously.
