Chapter 238
Taya had planned to tell him about her departure after she got out of bed. Since Griffon had taken the initiative to ask, she could take the opportunity to ask him.
“He must have something urgent to discuss with me. Could you please have someone take me home?”
“Are you so anxious to see him?”
Griffon looked down at her from where he stood, towering above her. Under the shadows of light, his face looked even more sinister and frigid.
“Yes.”
Taya was a little afraid of him but still nodded, against her heart’s wishes.
Even if she didn’t want to see Jackson, she had to leave immediately.
Since Griffon was planning his mating ceremony to Tara, it was inappropriate for Taya to stay at his house overnight.
She had only forgotten about his mate-to-be because she had been touched by the warmth he showed.
Now that she had completely woken up, she felt she should no
longer be entangled with a man with a fiancée.
Taya looked calm, but there was a hint of anxiety in her eyes. It seemed that she couldn’t wait to leave.
When Griffon saw her like this, the complicated emotions he felt gradually disappeared and were replaced by coldness.
“It’s only been a day since you two parted, and you miss each other so much. It seems that you two have rekindled your love.”
In the face of his sarcasm, Taya did not explain anything. She lowered her long eyelashes to hide her eyes.
Seeing that she was silent, the shifter became increasingly livid, and his hand holding her chin became more and more uncontrollable, claws starting to come out and poke into her
flesh.
“Didn’t you say you don’t love him anymore? Why do you still want to get back together with him?”
Trying to ignore the sharp pain in her chin, Taya smiled at him.
“I could be your lover for many years even though I don’t love you. Why can’t I rekindle my love with him?”
She didn’t know if the first half of her sentence made him choke or the second half made him so angry that he was speechless.
Taya looked up at him and saw that his eyes were completely his wolf’s right now. There wasn’t just the hint of his wolf…it was
But she quickly suppressed the emotion she couldn’t help feeling for him.
Griffon suddenly pressed down on her and pressed her against the bed. His lips were almost pressed against hers.
He didn’t touch her, but such close contact instantly made her suppressed feelings rise again.
“Didn’t I warn you that Jackson is the future son-in-law of the Knight pack? How dare you be with him?
“Do you think that after he called off his mating, you will have a chance to become his new mate? That’s why you’re eager to rekindle your old relationship?”
If she hadn’t heard with her own ears that his thoughts about her were limited to his physical needs, Taya would have surely thought that he was jealous.
Fortunately, she no longer had any expectations of him, so she remained unmoved by what he said.
“Alpha Knight, you know I want to marry into a wealthy pack for protection, and now that my ex-lover has come knocking, naturally, I’m tempted. As for the warning you gave me, you said he was the future son-in-law, but no one knows what will happen, right?”
Her question made Griffon feel she didn’t even care about her
dignity and had no limit to how low she would stoop.
No wonder after learning about Jackson’s broken engagement, she moved into his house and went in and out of hotels with
him.
Did she think that as long as she could control Jackson, she didn’t have to take the Knight pack seriously? That she could look down on Griffon?
She was provoking him…but what about him? What was he doing? He kept going to her again and again…
Griffon stared at her pale face and wished he could strangle her to death with his claws, but… he couldn’t bear to do that.
“Taya, you really don’t know what’s good for you…”
After a long moment of silence, Griffon slammed the door and
left.
