The Billionaire And His Son Want Me Back (Paisley) novel Chapter 146

Paisley turned her head, her gaze cold as she looked at Dominick.

"No!" Dominick hurried to explain, "I'm not siding with her, I just don't want you to get blood on your hands. It's not worth it!"

Paisley expressionlessly pulled the shard of glass from Dominick's palm, tossing it on the floor without caring whether it was stained with his blood.

She scoffed, "Mr. Vanderbilt really has no common sense. This tiny piece of glass can't even pierce your palm, let alone reach her heart."

Paisley had no intention of taking Marissa's life. The only reason she did this was to vent her anger. She wanted Marissa to experience the hopelessness of being on the verge of death. It was just unfortunate that all of this was ruined by Dominick.

Dominick froze, looking down at the glass shard. Indeed, as Paisley had said, neither its hardness nor its length would have been enough to pierce a human heart. It might even struggle to pierce a rib.

At that moment, he felt an overwhelming sense of powerlessness.

"Paisy, I just—"

Paisley frowned, "Don't call me that."

"How is Rena? She's alright, right?" he asked.

"My daughter is none of Mr. Vanderbilt's concern," Paisley said coldly, distancing herself from Dominick clearly.

Dominick's gaze darkened. He pushed away the doctor who was trying to bandage his hand. "Paisley, I know the truth about everything now. I've wronged you over these years. I—"

"Enough," Paisley interrupted him directly. "Mr. Vanderbilt, you don't need to say anymore. This time, no matter what, I will make Marissa pay the price. Nothing you say will change my mind."

Marissa's actions had crossed a line for Paisley, and she would not let it slide.

Dominick said, "I'm not trying to defend her, I'm just—"

"I don't want to hear it," Paisley coldly interrupted Dominick again. It was pointless to say more at this point.

"Paisley, what can you do to me?" Marissa leaned against the wall, dizziness from the pain in her head making her unsteady. "I'm the one you threw the vase at. If anything happens to me, you can wait for a lifetime in prison!"

"Heh!" Paisley sneered, "Let's see if I'll end up in prison."

The spot where she had thrown the vase at Marissa was carefully chosen— it wouldn't be fatal and wouldn't cause major injury. It would just hurt a lot and cause a lot of bleeding. To put it simply, it would look scary.

Just as Paisley finished her sentence, the police arrived at the Vanderbilt family estate. Marissa's eyes lit up as she pointed at Paisley. "Arrest her! She's trying to kill me! Hurry! Arrest her!"

"Officers, may I ask what brings you to my house?" Reginald stepped forward to ask as the head of the Vanderbilt family.

Dominick instinctively stepped in front of Paisley, his left hand still bleeding heavily, but he seemed not to feel any pain.
