The Billionaire And His Son Want Me Back (Paisley) novel Chapter 155

Paisley's first instinct was to check the front of her car. Seeing no scratches or dents, she let out a small sigh of relief. Then, a low groan of pain caught her attention.

She looked down and saw a tall man lying in front of her car. He was dressed simply—a black fitted turtleneck and tailored dress pants.

One glance was enough to tell he was someone who worked out regularly. And judging by his attire, he likely lived nearby and had just been out for a walk.

The man was clutching his knee, his face twisted in pain. Rain soaked his hair, the droplets rolling down his striking features. Even in pain, he didn't look the least bit disheveled. On the contrary, he looked effortlessly handsome. Even in pain, he still looked hot.

Paisley immediately labeled him as a ruggedly handsome man.

"Are you okay?" she crouched down in front of him, placing a hand on his knee and lower leg to check for any injuries.

She wasn't sure if she was responsible for his pain, so she needed to confirm his condition first. But the moment her hand brushed against his leg through the fabric of his pants, she felt a chill—his skin was ice-cold.

She looked at the man in surprise, and just as she did, he looked at her. The man's eyes were very captivating, as if they held many stories, deep and profound.

He seemed surprised that this woman had immediately touched his leg, and a flicker of astonishment appeared in his eyes. When their eyes met, she saw the same surprise reflected in his eyes.

"Could you help me up first?" the man asked.

As he spoke, the veins on his forehead were prominent, and it was clear he was in a lot of pain.

"Sure," Paisley replied. She had just touched his leg, and his knee and calf seemed fine.

She couldn't check his thigh directly, but judging by how he fell earlier, the thigh bone should be okay. She used all her strength to barely help the man up.

Holding an umbrella, Maria carried Serena out of the car and walked over. "Paisy, it's getting heavier. We should get inside."

Paisley looked up at the sky. The rain was indeed getting worse, and visibility was becoming poor.

At that moment, the man's gentle voice sounded in her ear. "Thank you for helping me up. You can go inside now. Don't worry about me. My people will be here soon."

"But your leg." Paisley looked at the man's leg. Even though he was trying to hide it, she could still feel him trembling.

"It's fine," the man smiled faintly, "Just an old injury. You didn't cause it, so don't worry."

Hearing that the man wasn't hit by a car, Maria relaxed and pulled Paisley along. "Paisy, let's go inside. It's too cold. Serena might catch a cold."

"Mm, okay," Paisley agreed, walking a few steps before noticing that the man was still standing motionless in the rain, his expression even more painful than before. It seemed he couldn't walk on his own.

She turned back. "How about you come inside and get out of the rain? I'll take a look at your leg."

She had already felt his calf and knee, which were ice-cold and not in the usual way.

The man hesitated for a moment before responding in a distant tone, "Alright, thank you."

Paisley asked Maria to take Serena inside, and she slowly helped the man into the villa. It wasn't a very long walk, but it took them quite a while to get there.
