“Stop pretending!” Brittany thought Christina was being hypocritical. Paisley is now a well–known screenwriter and the ex–wife of Dominick. You’ve got a powerful daughter now. Why do you still need me?” 

Christina lovingly pulled Brittany into her arms. “Brittany, no matter what happens, you will always be my daughter. I won’t abandon you.” 

“So, are you letting me stay here! Is this even a place for people to live?” Brittany looked around at the old house in disdain, worried that cockroaches might crawl out from the walls and bite her while she slept.
