T–Brittany’s eyes instantly filled with tears, her face showing the expression of wanting to cry but holding it back. “I don’t know what I did wrong to offend Ms. Levine. I really apologize.” 

Daisy sneered. “Stop pretending. There are no men or elders here–who are you trying to fool?” 

Daisy’s words immediately sparked laughter and agreement from the other young ladies. They were all around the same age, and they could see through Brittany’s little tricks. Older people might not notice, but they could tell right away. 

As the mocking laughter rang in her ears, Brittany’s face turned red. She cursed these young ladies in her mind but could only grit her teeth and bear it, putting on a face as if she were the one being bullied. 

Daisy looked at her and couldn’t help but sneer and thought, “She’s so good at pretending” 

Brittany’s expression froze. She could tell that Daisy’s sneer now was the same as the one she had made earlier when she mocked her in front of the ladies. 

In other words, Daisy was the one who had laughed at her earlier. Brittany immediately looked up, her eyes red. “Ms. Levine, did I offend you in some way? Why are you targeting me?” 

Daisy raised an eyebrow and looked at her like she was watching a joke. “Oh, still pretending? No wonder you’re an actress. But- Daisy smiled faintly, “She’s the actress who got laughed out of the cast after being mocked by everyone.” 

“What? What happened? How did she get kicked out of the cast?” asked another young lady. 

Daisy became animated. “You didn’t know? It’s been all over the news. She got picked up by a big–time investor, who pushed her into the lead role for a new Nion drama. 

“But after the announcement, all the other signed actors dropped out. No one wanted to work with her.”
