The Billionaire And His Son Want Me Back (Paisley) novel Chapter 80

The ballroom was still bustling with the ongoing cocktail party. However, the two main stars of the evening were absent. One was endlessly chatting with their so-called mentor, while the other stormed off to the garden for some reason.

Without the two central figures, the other attendees quickly lost interest. The opening gala was then reduced to a half-hearted social gathering.

Marissa hadn't seen Dominick return for quite some time. Distracted, she went through the motions of socializing, her gaze drifting toward the garden every so often.

Alexis asked curiously, "Marissa, why isn't Dominick back yet? Shouldn't you go check on him?" She wanted to know what Dominick was up to, but it wasn't her place to investigate. Instead, she nudged Marissa to go.

Marissa was tempted to check it out herself. So, she nodded, preparing to head toward the garden, when suddenly a piercing woman's voice rang out from that direction. "Stop it. What the hell are you doing? Dominick, you disgusting jerk, let him go!"

Marissa's face tightened with concern. Without wasting a second, she set her glass down and hurried toward the garden as she wondered, 'Why is Dominick with a woman? What are they doing? How does she know his name? Why is she asking him to let go?'

The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she became. Her pace quickened instinctively.

At the same time, Paisley also caught the commotion. She immediately recognized the voice—it was Emery's. Alarmed, Paisley thought, 'Did Emery run into Dominick? Are they fighting?'

Paisley knew all too well how much Emery despised Dominick. Emery had even sworn that if they ever crossed paths, she wouldn't hesitate to beat him up. At the time, Paisley had dismissed it as an empty threat—after all, the chances of them meeting were slim.

But now, the realization hit Paisley like a ton of bricks. She pondered, 'How could I forget? They're both here today. There's a real chance Emery and Dominick ran into each other. Could Dominick have hit her?'

Without wasting a second, she bolted toward the garden at top speed. The slit in her dress didn't hinder her at all, and she easily sped past Marissa.

Nathaniel smirked as he casually followed after her. "Hey, Ms. Sutton, where are you off to? Are you going to check out the drama? Count me in."

He also had heard the woman's scream and couldn't help but think, 'Dominick sure keeps up appearances in public, but behind the scenes, he's clearly having his fun.'

The other guests, noticing the flurry of people running outside, grew curious themselves. Hearing that the commotion involved Dominick only fueled their intrigue. After all, who wouldn't want to know what Vanderbilt Group's CEO—the heir of the illustrious Vanderbilt family—was up to in the hotel's back garden?

Meanwhile, worried that Emery might be getting hurt, Paisley dashed forward. As Paisley ran, she yanked off her high heels and gripped them tightly in her hand, yelling, "How dare you hit her, you jerk? Let go! I said—let go!"

Paisley soon reached the fountain in the garden and saw Emery standing unharmed nearby. The sight helped calm Paisley's nerves a little. It was only then that she realized Dominick wasn't even fighting with Emery. Instead, he was tangled up in a scuffle with Teddy.
