Chapter 858
“Yeah.”
Isaac set a playful example with a peck on Brittany’s cheek, only to receive a playful
punch in return. “Cut it out, will ya?”
Daniel watched, wide-eyed with astonishment.
Brittany, concerned about leaving a bad impression on her young son, intended to teach him not to be so forward with affection.
But a phone call interrupted her train of thought.
By the time she returned, Daniel had already been dropped off at preschool.
Brittany pushed the incident to the back of her mind.
However, that afternoon, she received a call from Wesley.
“Ms. Dustin, you sure have raised quite the charmer-smothering my little girl with kisses. What’s going on, huh? Are you running a soap opera for tots at your place?”
Wesley was fuming!
Brittany was left speechless.
Isaac, look at the fine example you’ve set!
Wesley gave Brittany an earful and then called Isaac, embellishing the story with his own spicy details.
Unexpectedly, Isaac replied, “I quite like Abby; she’d make a fine addition to our family.”
Wesley was dumbfounded.
Seriously playing matchmaker?
“Isaac, I’m warning you, keep your boy away from my daughter, or else, you’ll see what I can do!”
Wesley hung up with a roar and sought solace with Viola.
“Viola, those Salters are up to no good, eyeing my precious girl!”
Viola, busy with her work, brushed him off without a second thought. “Your daughter seems pretty fond of Daniel too, doesn’t she?”
Childhood friends, they knew each other inside out.
Wesley was at a loss for words.
Even if there was affection, that was a matter for grown-ups.

Chapter 858
What did these two little ones know?
When Daniel returned home that evening, Brittany sat him down for a serious talk.
“Daniel, it’s not okay to kiss little girls just like that.”
“But Daddy says it’s okay to kiss your wife.”
Daniel didn’t see what he did wrong. He and Abby were always so close, playing house with her as his pretend wife, so why couldn’t he kiss her?
Isaac sat quietly aside, feigning death.
Brittany spent an hour explaining, and Daniel was still reluctant. “So when can I kiss Abby?”
Brittany took a deep breath. “Not until you’re both adults.”
Daniel pondered this for a moment. “Got it.”
“Now, as punishment, you stand in the corner for an hour. Don’t move until time’s up.”
Having set her son straight, Brittany walked away, confident that her point was clear.
Little did she know, as soon as Daniel reached adulthood, he eloped with Abby, and by the age of twenty, he became a father.
“Daddy…”
The little boy couldn’t stand still.
Daniel looked desperately to Isaac for help.
“I can’t go against your mother’s words.” Isaac shrugged helplessly, leaving with a meaningful comment. “So, you better stand still.”
