Kylee let out a quiet laugh, full of disdain. She sneered. “Jude, don’t do anything stupid. If you act on your own, you’ll

regret it.”

On the other end of the line, Jude hesitated.

After she hung up, Kylee’s expression darkened, a wave of unease settling over her.
