As Drake was leading Laura upstairs, he was suddenly embraced by a stranger rushing out. 

“Sweetheart, you scared me!” 

Alina hugged Drake tightly, thinking Danny had been taken away by Johnny’s people, and she was almost about to chase after them. 

Drake pushed Alina away gently. Wearing a suit, he looked composed. “Ma’am, you’ve mistaken me for someone else.” 

Hearing Drake call her “ma’am” turned Alina bewildered. She thought Danny couldn’t recognize her because she wore sunglasses, even though, usually, he could recognize her even with sunglasses on. 

Alina took off her sunglasses, revealing her face. “Darling, it’s good that you’re cautious, but take a closer look. It’s Mommy.” 

Upon hearing Alina’s words, Drake couldn’t help but gulp. He didn’t have a mother. 

“Where did you get this little girl from? She’s so cute!” Alina looked at the girl beside Drake and said. 

The girl had big watery eyes like black grapes, pretty and adorable. Her skin was as smooth and delicate as a doll’s, with a hint of shyness. She instantly captured Alina’s heart, making her wish she had a daughter. 

“She’s my sister.” Drake held Laura’s hand tightly. He had brought his sister out secretly. 

know you’ve always wanted a sister, but you can’t just take someone else’s child. I’m calling the police to take this girl back home.” Alina took out her phone to call the police. 

At this moment, Drake noticed the photo on Alina’s phone screen. It was the picture of Alina and Danny, but to Drake, it looked like the picture of Alina and him, as Drake and Danny looked exactly alike. This puzzled Drake because he was certain he had never taken such a photo with this woman. 

Before Alina could make the call, Drake reached out and snatched her phone. 

Drake Stared at the screen in disbelief. Alina felt that Danny was acting strangely today. Alina asked, “What’s wrong, 

sweetheart?” 

Drake kept staring at the photo, then looked up at Alina. “Mommy?” 

Drake was thoroughly confused now. His dad had told him that his mom had passed away, so he couldn’t understand who this woman in front of him was. 

“Sweetheart, why are you acting so strange today? First, let’s take this little girl back. Are her family members also at the bash?” 

As Alina reached out to embrace Laura, the girl suddenly trembled, turned pale, and broke into a cold sweat, collapsing into Alina’s arms. 

“Hey, little girl, are you okay?” Alina was alarmed. 

However, she quickly composed herself, checking Laura’s pulse. As a doctor, she immediately sensed that something was wrong with Laura’s body. 

The girl was too cold, as if chilled to the bone. Alina wrapped her in her coat, letting her lean against her body. 

Then, she took out a silver needle from her bag, swiftly giving Laura an injection. 

Laura soon stopped trembling, and Alina withdrew the needle.

“Let’s find a room upstairs first!” Alina felt it was crucial get Laura to a comfortable environment for some rest. 

Alina carried Laura upstairs, Drake followed behind, dialing Johnny’s number on his phone.

The severity of Laura’s condition was alarming. If something went wrong, he wouldn’t be able to bear the consequences. 

When the call connected, it went straight to voicemail, stating that the line was busy. Drake was about to try again when he noticed Johnny, whose expression didn’t seem quite right, making a call on the other side.

Alina also spotted Johnny and couldn’t help but marvel at how small the world could be, how enemies always seemed to run into each other. 

‘But Danny is right behind me. It wouldn’t be good if he saw him. I have to sneak past without him noticing Danny,’ Alina thought to herself. 

However, the more Alina tried to evade, the more attention she attracted. 

Suddenly, Johnny noticed Alina. He recognized her as the woman he had encountered in the elevator earlier, acting suspiciously and holding a child in her arms. On closer inspection, he noticed that the child’s clothes resembled Laura’s. 

“Hold on there!” Johnny called out.
