Chapter 214
Lucian stood by the French windows, eyes shut, fists clenched tightly.
Suddenly, a wave of pain shot through his hand. He furrowed his brows, opened his eyes, and looked at his left hand.
The wound had stopped bleeding, and the shards of glass had been washed away by the sea. A delayed sting from the saltwater finally reached
his brain.
He felt a chill run down his spine.
In his rush to save Allison, he had completely forgotten about the injury on his hand.
He found the first–aid kit, took out some disinfectant, and quickly bandaged himself up.
Then he slumped into a lounge chair, overcome with fatigue, and shut his eyes.
He didn’t know how much time had passed when he suddenly jerked awake,
He dreamed of Allison being swept away by the sea.
His forehead was drenched in sweat. Why would he have such a dream?
Where was Allison?
He looked around the empty room. Where the hell was Allison?
Did the woman get drunk and pass out in the bathroom?
Shoot!
He flung open the bathroom door and found the woman still lying in the tub.
The water in the tub was drained. She had changed into a bathrobe and was curled up in bed.
Lucian finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He walked over, bent down, and looked at her peaceful, sleeping face.
The bathroom was filled with steam. Her cheeks were flushed.
At this moment, her sleeping face was incredibly serene, like a baby’s
Lucian looked at her profile, bent down, and picked her up. Startled awake by his movement, she blinked drowsily and asked, “Eh,, who are you?”
Lucian didn’t know how to control the anger bubbling up in his chest.
“What did you just call me?”
Allison was drowsy and tired; she barely lifted her eyelids before closing them again. “Jason, what are you doing here?”
The anger in Lucian’s eyes flared up.
“Allison!” He gritted his teeth, holding her even tighter.
“Ouch, that hurts!”
Her shoulder was hurting.
Allison continued to keep her eyes closed. “Jason, what’s wrong?”
This woman was really pushing his buttons!
Lucian put her down on the bed. Allison fell asleep instantly, not even giving him a chance to vent his anger. Her breathing gradually steadied, and she curled up, still in her oversized bathrobe, like she didn’t feel safe Lucian’s throat felt dry; he irritably pulled a blanket over her, then went to the
bathroom
