Chapter 542
“Hollywood’s rising star is caught in scandal. The innocent goddess turns out to be a slut.”
Although Grace usually didn’t keep up with the Hollywood gossip, something about this particular headline drew her in.
The cover was Allison.
Grace blinked in surprise. She quickly skimmed the article. A series of scandalous photos were on the page. The coarse words such as ‘harlot’ and ‘slut’ were thrown around. Grace’s heart pounded as she looked at the images.
The pictures depicted a hazy, intimate scene, and the woman’s profile bore a striking resemblance to Allison.
Below were comments.
“Eight hours have passed, but there’s still no response from Allison’s PR team. Did they just give up?”
“I told you it was really her. There can’t be two people in the world that look this similar. Stop defending her, Allison’s fans. Your innocent sweetheart is nothing more than a common harlot.”
“Allison surely knows how to play. Alone with several men. What a slut.”
“Even with the blurred photos, you can tell she’s got a killer body. Simply irresistible.”
“How many times has she been passed around? I hope she doesn’t have any STDs.”
Grace was stunned as she read these cruel comments. Her throat tightened and her hands trembled.
Meanwhile, her housekeeper called her to dinner, but Grace didn’t hear it. She spent a few moments staring at the photos before scrolling further down. She felt a chill run down her spine. Grace got up, feeling numb, and prepared to leave. She wanted to find Allison, to ask her if she was the woman in these photos. Then she realized she didn’t know where Allison lived, and her calls went unanswered.
Allison had cut her off. She was no longer Allison’s mother.
“Ms. Grace, dinner is ready. Are you going out?” The housekeeper approached her, sensing something was off. “Ms. Grace, is something wrong?”
Grace was pale, and her eyes were filled with dread. She clutched her chest, feeling unwell. The housekeeper rushed to support her. “Ms. Grace, are you okay?”
Grace was too overwhelmed to speak. She felt numbness spreading across her face. After a while, she managed to whisper, “I’m fine. I’m fine.”
The housekeeper helped Grace to bed, and fetched her some medication. After ensuring Grace was safe and resting, the housekeeper sent a text to Emma.
“Ms. Grace isn’t feeling well tonight. She’s taken some medication and is resting now.””
