Chapter 70
Jade sauntered over to Allison. Even in heels, she was no taller than Allison who was in flats Looking her up and down, Jade said, “My name’s Jade”
Her tone was anything but friendly Allison was taken aback, recognizing Jade from a previous encounter in Dr. Dylan’s office
Allison didn’t think much of it. “Hello, I’m Allison.”
“Allison, judging by your outfit, you work here, night? I need four servings of freshly made fruit. Go get them ready Jade emphasized “freshly made.
She was having a hard time swallowing the fact that Dr. Dylan chose a waitress as his girlfriend over her,
Allison responded calmly “Sure, just give me a moment
She turned to Dr Dylan, “I’ve got to get back to work”
“Okay, see you later Dr. Dylan sent her off with a warm smile
This scene made Jade seethe with jealousy.
She looked at Dr. Thalia, her face filled with grievance. Dr. Thalia could only helplessly watch her daughter and shake her head.
She loved her daughter, but if a man didn’t love her back, why should she cling onto him? She was always too proud, always wanting to be number one.
A few minutes later, Allison returned with a cart.
She prepped her tools, put on gloves, and started making the fruit platters.
Normally, fruit platters were prepared ahead of time. However, if a customer had hygiene concerns or strict fruit preferences, they could request for the platter to be made on the spot. Jade’s request was obviously meant to humiliate Allison.
But when Allison returned with the cart, Dr. Dylan went over to help, followed by a few nurses.
“Allison, I didn’t recognize you at first!” The speaker was Cindy, a nephrology nurse who’d seen Grace numerous times
“As soon as I walked in, I recognized you. You and June are both here,” Allison said, “Where’s Millie? I didn’t see her around.” She and Millie, the nurse in charge of Grace. were quite close.
“Her son’s having a birthday today, so she didn’t come.”
“Allison, you look so beautiful today! I didn’t recognize you at all. You look much better than when you’re in your scrubs, really flattering.”
Allison was slim with great proportions. Her hair was neatly pulled back, revealing her smooth forehead and stender neck. Her face was subtly made–up, very pretty
At the hospital, Allison usually didn’t wear makeup and dressed casually.
