The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 191

Allison said, "Don't worry, you're okay for now. But when the ambulance arrives, you must go to the hospital for a thorough check-up."

Looking at the young woman before him, Carter asked, "Did you save me?"

Allison replied with a downcast gaze, "Sort of."

"Just sort of? Either you did, or you didn't."

"To be accurate, you kind of saved yourself." A smile danced on Allison's face. "You're one tough old bird. I wouldn't have been able to save you otherwise."

Despite feeling rough, Carter couldn't help but chuckle at her words.

Seeing Carter suddenly laughing, the Lindberg family couldn't quite figure out what was going on in the old man's head. Meanwhile, Penelope was silently fuming, her fists clenched and her teeth grinding.

She really shot herself in the foot tonight. She wouldn't have been involved if Allison hadn't shown up, even if something happened to Carter.

Instead, she was now being sidelined while Allison was being praised.

If she hadn't shown up tonight and let Allison take her place, she, Penelope, would have been the one getting praised.

Carter told Allison, "You saved my life; I owe you one. If you ever need anything, give me a shout."

Soon, the ambulance arrived.

Carter was taken to the hospital, and almost all of the Lindberg family followed. After all, the old man's health was the top priority.

Steve and Lacey stayed at home.

Patting her chest in relief, Lacey said, "Thank God he's okay. Allison, thank you. You're a lifesaver."

If anyone else had suddenly fallen ill and she had the ability to help, she would've done the same.

When they reached the Flanagan family's villa, Jason parked the car.

As Allison was getting off, he called out to her, "In a few days, the Project of Pearl Island is going to start operating. Would you like to go? We can spend a few days there. It's a new development by the Lindberg Corporation and an independent island with beautiful scenery. Think of it as my way to thank you for saving my grandpa. How about it?"

"I don't think I can go. I have things to do, and I need to work."

"Don't you work at the Red Jack Club? I know the deputy manager there. I can talk to him for you. Allison, don't refuse. You saved my grandpa, and I should thank you properly. Think of it as a trip with a classmate to unwind."

Seeing Allison hesitate, Jason quickly said, "Great, it's settled then. I'll pick you up next Monday."

With that, he stepped on the gas and drove off, not giving Allison a chance to refuse.
