Upon hearing the child's unstable condition, Miranda immediately frowned and asked, "Doc, how's she doing?"
The doctor shook his head, "If it weren't for Ms. Flanagan's good health, she might have miscarried from the fall. Fortunately, we were able to treat her in time, and the baby is safe for now."
Miranda's face turned pale upon hearing the severity of the situation.
Tears welled up in Penelope's eyes as she choked out, "Doctor, you must save my child."
Margo comforted Penelope, "Ms. Flanagan, you're such a good person, your child won't die."
Seeing the look in Penelope's eyes, she continued, "It's all Allison's fault. How could you have ended up like this if it weren't for her?"
Miranda, furrowing her brows, asked, "Allison? What does this have to do with Allison?"
Margo cried out in a wronged tone, "Miranda, you must stand up for Ms. Flanagan."
Penelope immediately stopped Margo, "Margo, no."
"Ms. Flanagan, you're just too kind, still protecting someone like Allison at this time."
Penelope, looking troubled, said, "Margo, I promised Lucian, stop saying."
Margo gritted her teeth, "Ms. Flanagan, I can't stand seeing you wronged."
Miranda was somewhat confused, "What's going on? What does this have to do with Allison?"
Penelope burst into tears.
With tears in her eyes, Penelope nodded.
Miranda had no idea that Allison was such a person.
With a triumphant heart and tear-streaked face, Penelope looked at Miranda, "Miranda, it's not entirely Allison's fault, I went to find her. I wanted to thank her for saving Lucian in the forest, but she was very hostile to me. Ever since Lucian and I got together, Allison has been getting close to Lucian, trying to attract his attention."
Miranda frowned deeply.
Seeing that Miranda seemed to believe her, Penelope grabbed Miranda's hand and looked very wronged, "Her father and Ricky both died saving my father, so although Allison seems like our maid, we've been very good to her. When Allison's mother was in the hospital, all the expenses were paid by us. When Allison often skipped school, it was my father who dealt with the school. When she couldn't find a job because she hadn't gotten her diploma, it was my mother who helped her find a job. From childhood, whatever I liked, Allison always wanted to snatch it away."
Miranda gently patted the back of her hand, "You’re a sweet girl; you've suffered enough."
