The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 32

Lucian suddenly felt a wave of irritation, and his brow furrowed tightly.

His eyes lingered on the photo for a few seconds, then he crumpled up the two pictures and tossed them into the trash can.

He was certain that such a woman couldn't possibly be the kind-hearted girl who had saved his life.

In the hospital, Penelope's phone went unanswered again. The call was hung up, and Allison was left in a daze.

On the incoming call display were all Lucian's missed calls, but she had no idea how to face him, especially when that man had clearly expressed his dislike for her.

"Ms. Zimmer." Dr. Dylan approached, his expression serious.

Allison quickly turned to him. "Dr. Dylan, how is it going?"

Dr. Dylan slowly shook his head, his voice filled with regret. "You and your mother's kidneys aren't a match."

"How can that be?" Allison bit her lip tightly, her head spinning.

Dr. Dylan immediately tried to comfort her, "Even relatives with blood ties can have incompatible types. Ms. Zimmer, try not to worry too much."

She could try not to worry, but could her mother afford to wait? At this point, Grace had gone for further testing and hadn't returned yet.

Allison returned to the ward as if she were in a trance, not expecting Leah Flanagan-Eaden to be there.

Before she could say anything, Leah Flanagan-Eaden harshly slapped her.

"Allison! How dare you ignore Lucian's calls?"

Lucian's hand in mid-air tightened a bit; he always felt like "Penelope" seemed to be angry.

He sighed, walked to her side, and whispered comfortingly, "I'm sorry, time was tight. I couldn't reach you, so I called the Flanagan household."

Was he explaining?

Allison was taken aback, and then a mocking smile appeared on her lips.

He actually liked Penelope. He, with all his power, was actually coaxing a woman so gently.

The elevator stopped on the third floor, and as the crowd exchanged glances, Allison's gaze suddenly froze.

She saw Grace, with her full head of white hair, walking unsteadily. She looked very thin, and when she saw Allison, she visibly froze.
