"Help me over there." The man in the wheelchair stated.
James was a bit taken aback hearing this.
Aidan was a strange, aloof, and detached character. In the over ten years that James had known Aidan, he had hardly ever heard a kind word come out of his mouth. Aidan was also obsessed with cleanliness and never let anyone touch him.
What was happening today? He was actually asking a waitress for help…
James furrowed his brows, his eyes sweeping over the waitress's face a few times before he let out an exclamation.
This was too interesting.
The waitress was quite pretty, and… Wait, wasn't this the woman he saw at Magnolia Gardens that day?
The woman who was in Lucian's bed.
It was only then that Allison bent down to help him up.
He was thin; his arm underneath his thick sweater felt bony yet strong. The muscles in his arm tensed as if about to burst with power as he pushed up from his wheelchair.
Aidan took out a folded cane from his wheelchair. As he leaned on the cane and Allison helped him up, he limped a few steps before James hurriedly got up to help him.
Nobody in the box said anything, but he could almost feel the pressure from the man behind him getting heavier. He quickly told Allison, “Get us a few bottles of wine, nothing too strong.”
“Right away.” Allison, who was also looking for an excuse to leave, immediately walked out.
Even without looking back, she could feel the piercing gaze on her back until she walked out of the room…
"James, my leg is crippled, not broken; I can still walk," Aidan said as he pushed James away with one hand and hobbled over to the couch to sit down.
James didn't get mad, and this was just how Aidan was.
He glanced at Lucian, who looked unfazed as if everything that had just happened was his imagination.
Aidan also picked up a glass of wine from the coffee table. His voice was a bit hoarse as he said, "You're too kind."
James also raised his glass, feeling a twinge of regret in his heart.
These two were once good brothers; who would've thought they would become almost enemies in the end? If not for a common goal, they would not be standing side by side again.
The only things that could turn brothers into enemies were…
James raised an eyebrow, a thought emerging in his mind.
—Women.
Yuliana, Aidan's sister.
The fire that year, it was truly an accident.
