The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 6

Allison was sweating bullets, nerves shot to hell.

Just then, a seductive female voice rang out. "Lucian, you're here."

Penelope, decked out in a light pink dress and makeup on point, emerged from the villa.

Jason glanced her way and was taken aback by how much Penelope and Allison looked alike.

He joked, "Lucian, Allison and your wife could be twins, and they are both living here. Are they sisters?"

Allison was caught off guard. Before she could explain, Penelope interjected, "Are you kidding? She's just a maid in our house. Saved up some cash and got plastic surgery to look like me."

With that, she shot Allison a dirty look. "The kitchen's a hot mess. Get to it!"

Allison's cheeks burned. This wasn't the first time Penelope had dissed her, but for some reason, she didn't want this man to think less of her.

She nodded and disappeared into the villa.

Behind her, she could vaguely hear Penelope's voice, "Lucian, you have no idea. This woman's always had her sights set on the high life. She clings to anyone with money. If it weren't for my parents' kindness, she would've been kicked out ages ago."

Hearing this, Jason's face darkened. He joked, "Ms. Flanagan might be confused about plastic surgery. Your nose seems to have had some work done."

"Jason, show some respect," Lucian chided quietly, but there wasn't much reproach in his voice.

"Do I look like I can't feed myself?" Kamilla interrupted Penelope bluntly.

Penelope's hand froze mid-air, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm sorry..."

The mood at the table suddenly turned chilly. Leah watched as her daughter was treated this way, but she dared not offend Kamilla. She cleared her throat, looking to Lucian nervously.

The man set his fork down leisurely, speaking to Kamilla with a cold tone, "If you don't want to eat, you can leave."

Hmph, it was fine by her! She'd have loved to leave!

Kamilla got up to leave, just as Allison walked in with a bowl of hot soup. By the time Allison noticed Kamilla storming out, it was too late to dodge. The two collided.
