The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 639

Valerie had cooled off, realizing she couldn't let a moment of anger mess up her future. This movie role was her third strike. The TV shows she’d been in earlier this year didn't do too well, leaving her long-time fans disappointed and causing many to leave. This film was her lifeline, the reason her fanbase stuck around and why her career was still afloat.

Sandy reassured her, "What are you worried about? You've got the looks, the talent, and a solid reputation. Allison is just a newbie. Everyone on social media knows she only got the role in Wade's film because of her sugar daddy. Her acting's bound to be terrible. I'll buy a few press releases and trash her performance so badly that you'll shine on your talent and beauty alone."

Valerie chuckled, "Alright, Sandy, I was just a little upset earlier. Trust me, I'll nail this role."

Sandy nodded, "I see Tiffany's been trying to buddy up with you. Give her a few pointers. Her backing isn't a joke either; she's tied to the Boswell family's entertainment empire. It's good to make friends in high places – you could help each other out in the future."

"Got it. I'll grab dinner with her tonight," Valerie said, pulling out her phone to text Tiffany for a dinner date.

Satisfied, Sandy continued, "Shooting starts tomorrow. Get some rest tonight, and be at your best tomorrow. You know how Wade is; he might have compromised for cash by casting Allison, but he's a stickler for good acting. If she's bad, she's in for a rough time. Unlike her, you've been through it all and come out with skills sharp as a chef's knife. Plus, you have scenes with Aaron tomorrow. I'll get some candid shots and push your chemistry with him in the press."

"I understand," Valerie responded.

Aaron and Victoria went way back. He took the time to introduce Victoria to Allison, whispering a few words in her ear. Victoria watched them, her chin resting on her hand, and laughed, "What secrets are you two sharing behind my back?"

Aaron's voice was warm, "I was just saying that Vic is the kindest soul around, and Allison should definitely spend more time with you."

"Ah," Victoria smiled, "Singing my praises, huh?"

Victoria griped, "Can't even have a meal without paparazzi sneaking around. Ridiculous."

Wade called over a bodyguard to handle the intrusive photographers.

Allison's phone buzzed. She glanced at it, saw a message from Lucian, and excused herself to take the call.

Once Allison had stepped away, Victoria turned to Aaron, "So, what's the deal with you and Allison? How serious is it? This is the first time I've seen you initiate a conversation with an actress."

Aaron's reputation in the industry was stellar, and many actresses and high-society ladies tried to get close, inviting him out to no avail. Aaron had a clean slate, no scandals, no publicity stunts with co-stars. He was always polite but never crossed the line with any of the female stars who approached him.
