The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 655

Miranda stared at her phone, completely taken aback. "Is she really that kind of person?"

Penelope, always the smart one, scrolled through her Twitter feed, fully aware that Miranda wasn't one to keep up with social media drama. With a few quick taps, she pulled up the scandalous photos of Allison and handed them over to Miranda.

Though Miranda had heard the rumors, she'd never seen the proof. The images slammed into her like a freight train. How could her son be infatuated with such a tainted girl? No way, not on her watch!

Late at night, Mr. Sears urgently dialed Patty's number. After all, Patty was Allison's agent, and the lead role in the movie had always been unofficially marked for Allison. But Miranda's call had turned everything upside down.

"Patty, what’s your take on this mess?" Mr. Sears asked, needing advice.

Patty thought for a moment. "Well, the lead role has always been earmarked for Allison, and we've been discussing it for ages. But honestly, I don’t think she fits this character. I'll find her something else," she said thoughtfully.

Mr. Sears nodded, relieved. "Alright. Allison’s already on set for Wade’s new movie, right? That’s a two-month shoot. She doesn’t have her next project lined up, but I’ve got a few good scripts here. Send them over to her as a sort of compensation."

"Thanks, Mr. Sears. I appreciate it," Patty responded, her voice steady.

Pleased with Patty’s answer, Mr. Sears felt a burden lift off his shoulders. Since Patty, as Allison’s agent, had turned down the role, it was as if Allison herself had stepped aside. He wouldn’t have to offend Allison, and with the lead role now open, Penelope’s successful audition would naturally land her the part.

Although Patty had plenty of opportunities at her disposal, not all were given to Allison. Their recent fallout over a botched press conference had strained their relationship. Patty wouldn’t dare cross Penelope, Allison’s sworn enemy. For Patty, the goal was clear: secure her own position, oust Kenneth, and become the vice president of Epic Entertainment.

Soon, she wouldn’t need Allison anymore. Even if Lucian adored Allison now, even if she was basking in his affection, men’s love was fickle, fleeting like a woman’s beauty.

But Penelope was different. Even when age would inevitably take its toll, Penelope would still be the matriarch of the Lindberg family. That alone could overshadow Allison.

So, Patty's focus had shifted. She was looking to build her own roster of obedient, manageable talent.
