The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 689

Allison glanced at the clock; it was already 9:30 AM. She rolled out of bed and headed out of the bedroom.

Lucian was gone, probably off to tackle some business at Lindberg Corporation. He had just gotten back yesterday and was already swamped with work.

In the kitchen, she noticed a post-it note stuck to the fridge. The handwriting was as sharp and cool as the man himself.

“Fried some dumplings for you. There’s soy milk in the machine.”

After finishing her breakfast, Allison carefully saved the note in her notebook, pressing it flat.

Her phone rang; it was Emma. “Sis, Charlie's looking for you.”

“Tell her to come over to the apartment,” Allison responded.

“Will do.”

Allison knew exactly why Charlie was in such a rush to see her.

About half an hour later, the doorbell rang. Allison walked over and opened the door.

Charlie stepped in, taking in Allison’s pajama-clad form, fresh from sleep, her skin marked with the evidence of the previous night’s activities.

Charlie’s eyelid twitched as she stood awkwardly at the entrance. “Is it okay if I come in?”

Allison turned, “Come in, let’s talk.”

In the living room, Charlie accepted a glass of water from Allison but suddenly felt something poking her back. She stood up to find a men’s wristwatch, a high-end Patek Philippe, lying on the couch. Charlie recognized it immediately—a piece worth a cool $370,000, rare as they come.

She carefully placed the watch on the table. “Allison, I came to ask how things are progressing.”

“We’ve still got time; the audit isn’t until next week,” Allison said calmly.

“It’s soon though, next week,” Charlie pressed.

“There’s no rush. Sometimes, success is just a night away.”

Kenneth had somehow managed to lure Andrew and Hudson out to the club, and now they were in a private booth.

Besides them, there were a few others, and Kenneth had made sure to have a couple of attractive servers pouring drinks.

“Ms. Zimmer, what’s our next move?”

Allison pursed her lips. “I’ll head to the booth. In five minutes, go to booth 606 and find Lucian. Tell him... tell him Andrew Hudson is trying to assault me.”

“What?” Kenneth was shocked.

It wasn’t just Allison’s bold strategy that surprised him, but also the name she dropped.

Lucian—there was only one Lucian in Northfield.

The heir to the Lindberg Corporation, the fourth son of the Lindberg family, and the direct controller of Epic Entertainment.

Allison’s secret backer was Lucian himself!
