The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 700

Even though two of the top executives at Epic Entertainment had been taken down, life inside the company continued as usual. It seemed like nothing had changed.

Everything was set in stone. Kenneth, a long-time employee, naturally stepped into the role of CEO. The news had him so excited he couldn't sleep, hardly believing his luck even as he signed the paperwork, making it all official. He had only hoped to keep his position as Vice President, never daring to dream of leading Epic Entertainment. But here he was, the opportunity landing in his lap out of the blue.

Without wasting a moment, he called Allison.

"Miss Allison," Kenneth said with the utmost respect.

"Mhm."

"Just had a visit from the folks over at Lindberg Corp. I've signed the papers. I'm now the CEO of Epic Entertainment. Looks like Hudson and Andrew are heading straight for the slammer."

"Congratulations, Kenneth," Allison responded warmly.

"Oh, it's all thanks to you, Miss Allison. I look forward to your continued support."

"As long as you don't make the same mistakes as Andrew and Hudson, you'll stay comfortably in the CEO's chair."

Kenneth pledged his loyalty on the spot. "Absolutely. The actions of Hudson disgust me the most. Those artists he harmed? I've already compensated them and I'll make sure they're well taken care of with some resources."

Allison found his response satisfactory.

"Good."

Though it was just a simple word, Kenneth felt like he had received a huge affirmation.

"Miss Allison, if there's anything you need, just say the word. I'll make sure it's done."

"Actually, there is something I want to ask."

"Go ahead."

Always there, protecting Allison.

A few months back, Allison might have counted on sheer merit to elevate Emma eventually, but now, disillusioned with the industry's unwritten rules and how scum like Hudson could become a VP, she saw no reason why Emma shouldn't have a chance.

"Kenneth, would this make things difficult for you?"

"Not at all, Miss Allison. You can count on me."

"Alright, then it's in your hands."

Hanging up, Kenneth let out a sigh of relief.

If he couldn't pull this off, the title of CEO would be worthless, and in Allison's eyes, he'd be nothing but an ineffectual fool. Securing her trust would become a distant dream.
