The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 737

Penelope had been storming the halls of Epic Entertainment for days, her anger as thick as the tension in the air. But despite her fury, nothing seemed to be changing.

Inside Kenneth's office, Penelope's frustration was written all over her face. "Kenneth, you owe me an explanation! Who decided to pull the funding? I'm just 10 days away from wrapping up, and now you're stopping production? What am I supposed to do about my scenes?"

This was her big break, her debut role, and she'd poured her heart and soul into it. Of course it mattered to her!

Sure, the film had taken a hit when Jennifer walked out, but that wasn’t Penelope’s fault. Jennifer just couldn't see the opportunity. They had invested a massive two hundred million into marketing, and with Hollywood heavyweight Charlie backing her, Penelope was convinced the box office would soar.

Now, with production halted, it felt like a death sentence for the film—and for her role in it.

She couldn't help but wonder. As the future Mrs. Lindberg, even if her relationship with Lucian wasn’t the warmest, outsiders wouldn't know that. The title alone should have been enough to keep Epic Entertainment from pulling their investment.

Was this a move by Lindberg Corporation, or was Kenneth acting alone?

Kenneth motioned to his assistant to pour Penelope a coffee. "Ms. Flanagan, please, take a seat. Let's talk this through."

Penelope took a sip, trying to calm herself. Kenneth spoke up, "Should I call Charlie in to discuss this?"

"Ms. Flanagan, if you can't grasp what I'm saying, perhaps it would be best for your agent to discuss this with me."

Fuming, Penelope stormed out of the office and headed straight for Charlie's.

Charlie had been busy dealing with the fallout from the halted production and planning Penelope's next steps. As the vice president and a woman known for her acumen within the industry, she was hands-on when it came to her clients' affairs.

While Penelope's film was on ice, Charlie was already lining up a new series for her star.
