“Then why are there people saying he deserves it if you is not spread it? Do you think we do not know you are the one who spread things about Melanie?” she asked.
“Is it a lie? I was married to Donald, was I not? Besides, this is the daughter-in-law you wanted for your son, what doe it have to do with me” Elena asked.
“You better come out and defend him or else!” Cecile insisted.
“Or else what?” Elena asked and she paused. They both knew there was nothing he could do.
“If you speak out, I will consider letting you two get back together,” she said and Elena laughed.
“Who wants to marry your son? Even if he was served on a platter, I would never want him again. A mother like you might as well be a curse to him. Who cares what happens to him? Who cares if you consider him. I would never consider him again until you drop dead,” Elena said.
“Hurry up and get back here and refute the rumors! You want me to die before you do it? What nonsense. You are the one who had always been obsessed with my son. Get back here if you still want to marry him again!” Cecile screeched.
Elena was furious even though she finally understood. It seems that this old woman is still banking on her love for him.
What rubbish.
“Old witch, have you lost your mind? If people are spreading tales about your son, shouldn’t I take out some gifts to thank them for their public service? Maybe even go around and bow a bit, probably donate money to sew a wedding dress for their children. Why would I come over and help his dispel rumor? If you are done opening your dirty mouth, go back to that grave you crawled out from and have some eternal rest!” she ended the call.
By the time she finished talking, she was fuming. She had completely forgotten that Janet was in the car.
She could not seem to control her temper these days and Janet was laughing hysterically the car.
“It is obvious that hell is missing an inmate, why are they lazying around instead of coming for their in mate?” she muttered under her breath.
She was fuming and wanted to break something.
Janet had a good laugh, but her laughter could only stop when she received a phone call from her mother.
“Ma,” she started to say the moment her phone touched her ears.
“Janet Ava Kent, do you know what time it is?!” her mother’s roar rang out into the now silent room.
“I—I-- she glanced at the time on her phone and realized it was one Am in the morning.
“Why do you ask?” she responded.
“Why are you not home at this hour? Is this how you behave in the city?”
“What are you talking about? Did you dream of me again? I am safe at home, go to sleep,” she responded.
“Then I must be a ghost then, or your house is the ghost, It is either I am hunting the wrong house or your house is hunting the wrong person. I was wondering why the pots did not break when they fell.” her mother’s sarcasm floated from the phone to the ears of Elena in the car and it was Elena’s turn to laugh.
But Janet was too shocked to notice her reaction.
“You are in my house? You dropped my pots?”
“No, maybe I trespassed on the wrong house, who knows the owners may be back soon to get me.”
“Ma, Why are you in Magma city?” she asked.
