The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1000

“Let me give you a ride,” Bruce stood up.

Thalassa’s heart clenched at the proposal, her entire body vigilant.

She didn’t need Bruce’s charity at all. Was this another one of his veiled threats?

“It’s just a short walk, and there’s no need for a ride. Please just sit down and eat!” Lucy griped. She grabbed Bruce’s wrist and pulled him back down to the dinner table with a force that brooked no argument.

Bruce didn’t dare to protest Lucy’s assertiveness. Arguing over such a trivial matter was not worth the hassle, especially when it would just lead to Lucy dredging up the past.

Bruce sat back down reluctantly.

Lucy shoved a fork into his hand, “Just keep eating.”

Bruce slumped in his chair. He looked unhappy. His disdain for Lucy had reached its maximum, and he yearned to be free from her right now.

But Lucy had him in a vice grip.

Bruce knew he was nothing without money.

He had to suppress his revulsion, go back to play the devoted husband, and share the meal with her.

Thalassa hastily left the Bruce’s place, got into her car, and sped away.

Once she was clear of their territory and driving on the open asphalt road, Thalassa finally felt her nerves begin to relax.

Her breathing, which had been so constricted, was now eased.

Her grip on the steering wheel tightened as she fought to calm the nervous excitement within her.

Now, she had Bruce’s phone number and family network IP in her possession. She would simply just request Atticus to hack into Bruce’s phone and computer and delete the video.

Callum’s lips curved in his usual warm smile as he greeted, “Ms. Everhart, what a coincidence!”

“Yeah, quite the coincidence.” Thalassa replied. She had just picked a diner at random and had not expected to run into Callum.

“May I?” He nodded towards the seat opposite to her.

Taken aback for a moment, Thalassa politely responded, “Of course, please.”

Callum sat down across from her, and the server promptly poured him a glass of ice water.

He took a sip from the glass. His slender fingers accentuated by the clarity of the cup. He set the glass down but didn’t release it, instead holding it with both hands as he fixed his gaze on Thalassa. “Last night, you didn’t tell Lysander the identity of the one who kidnapped you. Why?”

He had been wanting to ask Thalassa, but the right opportunity had eluded him until now. And he wasn’t about to let this chance slip away.

Thalassa paused. The fears and despair from the previous night resurged at the mention, her breath catching in her throat.
