There were no security cameras in the private booth, leaving the events within its walls shrouded in mystery.
However, the surveillance footage from the hallway revealed that when Thalassa emerged from the room, her expression was downcast, suggesting unhappiness. Despite that, her clothes were neat, her face bore no sign of distress, and she clutched a sheaf of papers in her hand.
It was the deed to the villa Leopold had left her!
After leaving the restaurant, Thalassa hailed a cab and disappeared into the night.
Two minutes later, Callum strolled out of the private booth, his departure casual, as if nothing of consequence had occurred.
The security footage offered no grounds for suspicion. It seemed improbable that much could have transpired within the private booth in just ten minutes.
On that day, Thalassa's meeting with Callum likely revolved around accepting the villa Leopold had bequeathed to her.
Coincidentally, that very evening, Thalassa and her mother moved into the new villa. Thalassa even purchased birth control pills, downing three of them!
He had discovered the birth control pills in her drawer once, and she had lied through her teeth, claiming they were just a precaution against any unexpected moves on his part.
If she had taken the pills, why the need for deception?
Was there a deeper reason? Or were the pills not meant for her at all?
These thoughts deepened Lysander's brooding gaze.
That night, Thalassa wasn't the only one at the villa; Evelyn was there too, already asleep by the time he arrived.
Could it be that the pills were actually for Evelyn?
Evelyn wasn't married, and as far as he knew, there were no men in her life. So why would she need birth control?
A chilling aura enveloped Lysander as he reached for his phone, intent on calling David.
