The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1191

After settling the tab, Hertha turned and caught a glimpse of Alaric standing a short distance away, his complexion ashen. Her heart skipped a beat, and her brow furrowed slightly, but she only gave him a brief glance before diverting her eyes and striding away.

Back at her seat, Hertha's mood had clearly taken a nosedive, her mind elsewhere.

Spencer chuckled, "Ms. Kensington, are these dishes not to your liking? Should we order something else?"

He was elated because Hertha seemed quite taken with him.

Lost in thought, Hertha didn't hear Spencer's words. Her mind was still on what Alaric had said earlier.

In such a short time, he had dug up information on Spencer.

He knew Spencer was a prodigal son with a Ph.D., earning a hefty six figures a year, and even knew she had spent a small fortune in a single day.

That snake, Alaric, had been secretly investigating her connection with Spencer.

What right did he have to probe into her life?

Seeing Hertha unresponsive, Spencer felt a touch awkward.

Thalassa noticed Hertha's distracted state and gently nudged her arm to get her attention.

Startled back to reality, Hertha turned to Thalassa, who signaled towards Spencer, "He's asking if you want to order more."

Quickly snapping back to the present, Hertha politely smiled at Spencer, "No, thank you. We're quite full. We'll just sit for a little while longer before we leave."

"Alright then," Spencer replied.

At the table behind them, Alaric had returned. Georgia spotted him and greeted him with open arms, affectionately linking her arm through his, "Alaric, are you feeling any better? Should we take you to the hospital?"

After sipping coffee for a while, Spencer said, "I'll go pay the check."

Hertha stopped him, "No need, I've already taken care of it."

Spencer froze, a hint of disappointment in his voice. "How could I let you pay?"

"It's fine, I'm used to splurging on food and drinks. Besides, you need to save your money for getting married, right? It's better to be economical," Hertha said.

Spencer's grin reappeared, touched by Hertha's frugality on his behalf, saving money to marry her.

Fantastic.

At the adjacent table, Alaric's gaze turned even colder.
