The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1270

So, while they waited for the sheets to be changed, was she seriously not even allowed to sit on the bed?

Thalassa was feeling a bit upset. Even if she couldn't lounge on the mattress, perching on the nightstand would've been fine, right? Why on earth did she have to sit on his lap?

With her back against his sturdy chest, Thalassa could feel the heat emanating from his body. She tensed up, holding her breath as if that could make her invisible.

Her heart was pounding like a jackhammer, his large hands encircled her waist, and his hot breath cascaded down her neck, reminiscent of a predator panting over its prey – desperate to devour her but restrained.

Thalassa's heart was all over the place, a bundle of nerves.

As the seconds ticked by, the wait felt like an eternity.

She wished someone would come to her rescue, but it was just the two of them in the room. Her mom and Callum had been shooed away by him.

And since he was the one who sent them away, they wouldn't return until he left.

Thalassa racked her brain, trying to figure a way out of his grip.

Standing up was futile. His arms were locked around her, keeping her firmly in place.

She needed an external force.

Just as Thalassa was exhausting her mental strategies, there was a noise at the door.

Startled, Thalassa quickly turned her head to see two housekeepers pushing a cleaning cart into the room.

Upon witnessing the scene, the housekeepers froze, a flicker of surprise crossing their faces before they hastily said, "Oh, sorry to intrude. If now's not a good time, we can come back later."

They were about to retreat.
