The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1366

The ER doors swung shut, the bright red letters spelling out "EMERGENCY" casting an ominous glow.

Thalassa slumped to the ground, her heart wrenching painfully, her breaths coming in heavy, labored gasps as if the entire sky above her head had turned to darkness.

Her hands, propped against the cold floor, were covered in blood. It was a shocking sight, the crimson smears tugging at her heartstrings with a stinging, blinding pain.

Trembling breaths caused tears to fall one by one, and as she shakily lifted a hand, her tear-blurred eyes saw nothing but the dark red of blood.

All of it belonged to Lysander.

Back in the ambulance, the medics had used cotton to staunch Lysander's bleeding, but the cotton quickly reddened, and the blood from his wounds seemed to flow incessantly.

Images of Lysander in the ambulance flashed through Thalassa's mind, her heart squeezing in sharp pain.

Down the hallway in front of the ER, a nurse dashed toward the doors, nearly tripping over Thalassa, who was sitting on the floor.

Luckily, the nurse managed to stop just in time. She was carrying an armful of medical supplies, which almost spilled onto the floor in her abrupt halt but were steadied just in time.

Looking down at Thalassa with a start, the nurse blurted out, “Miss, there's a first aid room not far from here. You should get yourself cleaned up. I've got to deliver these supplies to the patient inside the ER; I can't help you there. If you can stand, you'll need to make your own way.”

With that, the nurse hurried off toward the emergency room.

Struggling to her feet, Thalassa tried to follow the nurse into the ER. She wanted to see how Lysander was doing.

But as she barely steadied herself, the nurse had already entered the ER, closing the door behind her.

That door once again severed the distance between her and Lysander.

It was like the separations in their lives: the first was because Lysander hated her, the second because she hated him.

But now, she didn't want to hate him. She just wished for him to survive, to live unscathed.

“What?” Thalassa's head spun with dizziness, fearing that Lysander might suddenly pass away.

At that moment, her mind was a whirlwind of chaos.

“Think! Does he have any relatives? Get them here to donate blood, quick!”

Tears streaming down her face, Thalassa pleaded, “I don't have my phone with me. Could you please lend me yours?”

Her voice quivered with urgency, her eyes begging for help.

“Calm down; I'll lend you my phone. Wait here, let me clean your hands first.” The nurse led Thalassa out, holding a tray with a bottle of iodine on it.

She instructed Thalassa to stretch out her hands. Seeing them smeared with blood made the nurse's own hands go numb with worry.

Eager to make the call, Thalassa cooperated and extended her bloodied hands.
