Thalassa and Lysander's tangled love story began three years ago, and to this day, it remained unresolved, leaving her heart bruised and battered.
Countless nights saw Thalassa sobbing into her pillow, nursing her wounds alone in the darkness of her room. With each breakdown, she found a way to heal, only to crumble all over again, each cycle leaving her heart more exhausted than before. This time, she nearly lost herself entirely after drowning her sorrows in too much wine, saved only by a twist of fate.
In that moment of liberation, Thalassa found a sudden peace within her heart. Lysander was marrying Rosalind. Let him. She realized there was no need to mourn a love that was never hers to keep. Calmness became her new creed. Why torment herself over something beyond her control?
Hertha had her own epiphany. She admitted she had been too blinded by love, or rather, infatuation with Alaric's charm. She had thrown caution to the wind, resulting in two beautiful children she didn't regret. But now, knowing that Alaric and Georgia were meant to be, Hertha understood that dwelling on Alaric's sweet nothings was just self-torment. When she faced danger, it was her own strength that saved her. Hertha embraced the lesson that a woman must never depend on anyone but herself for her salvation.
"Nolan, you're done! Come with us to the station!" The police officers dragged the burly man out of the motel room. As he was led away, the burly man shot a menacing glance back at Thalassa and Hertha, his eyes filled with unfulfilled malice and a hint of a threat, as if to say, "I'll be back for you."
He regretted letting Hertha escape. He had thought the isolated location would ensure his deeds remained undiscovered until it was too late. But luck was on Hertha's side when she stumbled upon a police patrol that stormed the room just in time. The burly man's overconfidence in his knowledge of the area was his downfall. He had underestimated Hertha's luck.
