The girl's exclamation was both surprised and loud, drawing the attention of Alaric and Hertha, as well as curious glances from everyone around them.
As Alaric and Hertha turned, they saw Georgia, clutching a toddler about two years old, glaring angrily at Alaric.
Alaric barely glanced at the boy before confronting Georgia with an expressionless face, "Who I marry is none of your business!"
"What did you just say, Alaric? Say that again!" Georgia stormed forward, clutching the little boy even tighter.
Georgia was about to invade Alaric's personal space when Hertha couldn't stand by any longer. Alaric was her man now, and she had decided to leave the past behind and embrace their future together. She wasn't going to let any woman get close to him!
Quickly stepping forward, Hertha shielded Alaric, crossed her arms, and stood her ground against Georgia. "We're both free to marry, the law allows it, and so does morality. I won't let anyone mess this up!"
"Move aside, I'll deal with you later!" Georgia shoved Hertha aside, taking two steps towards Alaric and thrusting the child in front of him, her voice laced with frustration and anger, "Alaric, look at him, he has your eyes!"
Over the years, Alaric had grown tired of Georgia's clinginess and her diva attitude.
With a dismissive, even scornful tone, he said, "Move, you're not stopping me and Hertha from getting married."
He walked past Georgia, taking Hertha by the shoulder, and led her back to the registration desk.
The clerk handed them each a form to fill out. Alaric eagerly began to fill his, and Hertha, without hesitation, started writing her information with a black ink pen.
Georgia, feeling ignored, watched as Alaric, holding his paperwork firmly, was determined to marry Hertha. Unable to hold back any longer, she hugged the child closer and tearfully declared, "His name is Alar, he was just added to the family registry. He's your son, Alaric!"
