The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1908

The little boy nestled into Joshua's arms, his small frame shivering and hiccuping silently, as if terrified of making any sound. He looked like a tiny creature about to be caught, trembling with fear yet too scared to even whimper, evoking a deep sense of pity.

Thalassa, pushing Lysander in his wheelchair, approached, and Joshua, with a tone filled with gratitude, said to Lysander, “Lysander, I really owe you one this time. Without your help, I’d still be at a loss.”

“It was nothing,” Lysander replied, his voice steady.

He had received a call from Joshua asking for assistance at the orphanage, and since Thalassa was home, he decided to bring her along. After all, this was somewhat related to Thalassa’s family issues as well. And having Thalassa witness Susan being taken away was, in a way, closure for her.

Joshua, with a nod and a smile, finally made eye contact with Thalassa, as if truly noticing her for the first time, his expression softening with concern, “Thalassa, how have you been lately?”

Thalassa didn’t blame Joshua for only noticing her now, considering she had been invisible to him for the past thirty years. She could sense the perfunctory nature of his question, a courtesy because of Lysander.

With a cold demeanor, Thalassa replied, “I’m doing just fine, thank you. Now, if you'd excuse us, he needs to rest.” Her voice was flat, devoid of emotion, as she made way to push Lysander away. Joshua’s smile faltered as he stepped aside.

Watching them leave, Joshua remained silent until they were out of sight. It was then that Reginald approached him, commenting, “Thalassa’s getting too bold.”
