The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1946

"Callum, what on earth are you trying to do?" Thalassa's voice was filled with panic as she eyed him warily.

Callum lifted his sorrowful gaze to meet Thalassa's panicked look, his voice a low murmur, "You don't even flinch at the mention of Leopold anymore. It seems you've completely erased him from your memory."

Thalassa's gaze was guarded, her body tense, watching Callum intently, her breath uneven. "Neither of us have any right to bring up Leopold. Besides, he's been gone for three years. Wouldn't it be better to let him rest? Why dredge up the past?"

Thalassa didn't want to revisit past events, because no matter who was right or wrong, it didn't matter anymore. Leopold was no longer of this world, and bringing up those things would do no good.

"So, to you, Leopold is just history, not even worth mentioning?" Callum's eyes brimmed with sadness. His words were soft, but his look was clearly accusatory.

"Callum, do you really not know what actually happened to Leopold?" Thalassa initially didn't want to bring up Leopold. The dead should be allowed to rest.

But it seemed Callum couldn't get past this issue, and she seriously doubted whether he knew the real cause of Leopold's death.

"What are you getting at?" Callum's gaze sharpened suddenly, piercing her with his stare.

"You once told me that Leopold was driven to his death by Lysander, who, wanting to give me freedom, didn't hesitate to die at Lysander's hand to induce a guilt trip, thus letting me go. I used to believe that, blaming everything on Lysander. But just recently, I discovered that we've all misunderstood Lysander."
