Chapter 351
Hertha’s hands were plump and warm, and when she held Alaric’s hand, he could feel the heat emanating from her palm, slightly dampened by sweat.
His striking almond-shaped eyes met hers, “I don’t mind chatting, but can you let go of my hand?”
Upon catching his mesmerizing gaze, she felt her heart skip a beat. Even a simple glance from him was enough to stir her emotions.
She quickly realized that she was still clutching his hand, a flicker of distaste crossing his face.
Her expression fell, and she slowly withdrew her hand, dropping her gaze.
Alaric said, “If you need my help, let it be clear that I will not partake in anything immoral or illegal.”
Hertha quickly reassured him, “It will not violate ethics or laws, it’s simple.”
“Alright, go ahead,” Alaric responded.
He wanted to quickly resolve his obligations to her and avoid further entanglement.
“Follow me,” Hertha instructed.
She led Alaric towards the room number Thalassa had given her.
As they were about to turn the corner, out of the corner of her eye, Hertha spotted two burly bodyguards. With quick reflexes, she retreated back into the hallway
undetected.
Alaric, too, was about to turn the corner when Hertha shoved him back.
Alaric was tall and muscular, while Hertha was petite and curvy. Despite her slightly chubby figure, she was cute and delicate.
As she pushed Alaric back, she was nearly engulfed in his embrace.
She could smell the masculine scent on him, mixed with a faint fragrance, and feel his solid chest.
Her hand resting on his chest, her heartbeat skipped a beat.
This man’s allure was just too strong.
Even a simple touch was nearly too much for her to handle.
Alaric noticed her nestled against him, her hand still exploring. He frowned in displeasure.
Before he could speak out, Hertha cut him off.
“Shh,” she whispered, her index finger to her lips in a silencing gesture.
Alaric silenced his words, his gaze dropping to her hand on his chest. In a low voice, he asked, “Are you trying to take advantage of me again?”
Hertha glanced down at her hand on his chest, soaking in his masculine charm.
She didn’t mean to take advantage of him. It was just an instinctual reaction.
She quickly realized her mistake and immediately withdrew her hand, her face flushed with embarrassment. She avoided his gaze, whispering, “Sorry, I didn’t mean
