Chapter 686
Thalassa was intended to walk herself at first but Lysander’s domineering insistence stole her words away.
With David and the bodyguard standing nearby, her face turned as red as a ripe apple.
David, with a clenched fist to his lips, coughed lightly to ease the awkwardness, “Mr. Sinclair, we’ll handle the chasing of Faye. It looks like it’s about to rain and Ms. Everhart is injured. She needs prompt medical attention.”
Only then did Thalassa realize they had climbed the hill to pursue Faye..
No wonder they had appeared right after she spotted Faye.
“Absolutely, bring her back,” Lysander ordered in a deep, authoritative tone.
“Yes, Mr. Sinclair,” David responded, leading the bodyguard towards the hilltop.
“Um, wait.” Thalassa ‘quickly interjected.
David halted in his tracks, turning back to hear her out.
Hesitated, Thalassa addressed Lysander, “Can they let down Bruce when they reach halfway up the hill? He’s hanging on the zip line.”
Her initial plan was to find someone at the base of the hill to lower Bruce.
However, with the impending rain, it seemed unlikely there would be anyone around the base.
She had left Bruce hanging in mid-air to teach him a lesson and to let him taste the helplessness of crying out to an unresponsive world.
He had hurt so many people, leaving them both helpless and desperate.
It was about time he got a taste of his own medicine, but she had no intention of killing him.
But with the looming rain and the presence of wild monkeys, Bruce, who was hanging there overnight, would be terrified to death, if not injured.
Her voice was weak. As she finished speaking, her eyes met Lysander’s unreadable gaze. His silent pressure was palpable.
Thalassa felt her heart fluttering. She bowed her head timidly, “Is it impossible?”
Lysander squinted; his eyes became even more piercing, “What exactly are you doing on the hill?”
Feeling guilty, Thalassa evaded his gaze, “Nothing. I just wanted to teach Bruce a small lesson. I didn’t anticipate the thunderstorm and my ankle got twisted. If not for that, it would have gone smoothly.”
Upon hearing her words, Lysander’s eyes darkened further. His gaze towards Thalassa became icy and deep.
Thalassa felt his oppressive aura slow her breathing. Her fingers unconsciously tightened around his neck.
Had she done something wrong?
Why was he staring at her so intensely?
After a moment, Lysander shifted his gaze to David, who was still waiting, “Do as she says.”
“Understood, Mr. Sinclair.” David accepted the order and quickly ascended the hill with his bodyguard.
As for Lysander, he held Thalassa in his arms and quickly descended the hill with his long legs.
