Chapter 697
“Do you have a bank card at hand?” Thalassa asked.
“No.”
“Well, you can see your card number in there. Can you send it to me?” Thalassa ditched any pretense and got straight to the point.
“Why?” David asked.
Was your own bank card number something you could casually share with others?

“Well, I got thirteen million from Bruce yesterday, and today the police called me, asking where the money came from and if I had swindled it from someone. They said their investigation showed some suspicious activity in my account, so they are currently suspecting me of fraud. They’re preparing to build a case against me. I was so scared. I told them the money in my account was just passing through from someone else and would be transferred out soon. I had a record of large sums of transactions once on my account, so they believed me.”
Last time, David called Lysander to tell him that the billion in her account was transferred to Bruce to buy a mansion.
So, she had a record of large sums of transactions on her account, which David absolutely believed.
Nowadays, if someone’s account suddenly had a lot more money or the transactions seemed unnatural, they’d be monitored by big data and watched by
the police.
What Thalassa was saying made total sense.
“So what?” David asked.
“So, I’m planning to transfer the money to your account and tell the police that the money is yours. Then they won’t suspect me of being a fraud and won’t investigate me.” Thalassa explained her plan.
“But won’t I be investigated then?” David asked calmly.
He wanted to know what Thalassa was up to.
“No, you’re the chief secretary of the Sinclair group. You deal with much more money than that on a daily basis than this. It’s completely normal for you, so you won’t be investigated.” Thalassa assured him.
She was telling the truth. David, who was constantly working with Lysander, sometimes had to reimburse millions.
“If you transfer it to me and I transfer it back to you, won’t they investigate you again?” David didn’t understand her thought process.
“Of course not. After I transfer it to you, you can withdraw it as cash and then give it to me. There’s no transaction record for cash, so who would know? Help me out, and I’ll treat you to dinner someday, David. You’re always so helpful.” Thalassa began to sweet-talk him and coax him persistently.
“You could ask Mr. Sinclair.”
“No way.
If I transfer the money to him, he won’t give it back to me.” Thalassa was adamant.
“Are you reluctant to part with this money?” David seemed to understand what she was thinking.
“Of course! It’s so much money; who wouldn’t like it?” Thalassa didn’t hide her love for money.
On the other end of the phone, David hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Alright. I’ll send it to you later.”
His tone was calm and steady, but there was a hint of coldness hidden underneath every word.
Soon, Thalassa received David’s bank card number.
Without a word, Thalassa transferred the entire billion and thirteen billion to David’s account.
After transferring the money, she promptly sent David a message. “It’s Lysander’s money. Do whatever you want with it. Thanks, David.”
