Chapter 741
After seeing Thalassa’s spirits fall, Hertha quickly put her phone away, indignantly making a point of defending her friend.
It wasn’t fair. Why should Lysander be able to see other women while expecting Thalassa to remain chaste for him?
“Who is your happiness?” A deep, intimidating male voice echoed, cutting through the vibrant nightlife. Its chilling tone instilled fear in all those who heard
Thalassa looked towards the voice, spotting a man striding towards them with an imposing figure highlighted by the neon lights. His icy demeanor felt like it lowered the température around them to near-polar levels.
Lysander had arrived.
Thalassa’s heart instinctively clenched.
Hertha, who had just been full of righteous indignation, seemed to falter at the sight of Lysander.
She stood, intending to protect Thalassa, but as Lysander’s looming figure drew nearer, she unconsciously took a step back as her resolve wavered. “Stay away! We don’t want anything to do with you.”
Lysander brushed past her without even a glance, making a beeline for Thalassa. He took her hand, pulling her up from the rock they had been sitting on. His gaze was piercing as he stared at her. “Who are you looking for? Who is your happiness?”
His alluring eyes were filled with rage, and his handsome face was taut.
Thalassa, who had been so desperate to find him, was suddenly calm.
She turned her face away, avoiding his touch. She found her courage, no longer caring about his potential anger.
“It’s certainly not you!” Thalassa snapped. “Hertha was right. If you want to see other women, I won’t stop you. But you can’t stop me from finding someone I like… Ah!”
Before she could finish her sentence, Lysander’s strong arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her against his muscular body.
“Watch me stop you!” Lysander’s eyes were cold as he hoisted her onto his shoulder and headed towards the hotel.
“Lysander, let me go!” Thalassa beat against his back, kicking and struggling.
Her efforts, however, were futile against Lysander’s superior strength.
“Thalassa!” Hertha, upon seeing her friend being carried away, tried to follow them, but David stepped in her way.
“Ms. Kensington, it’s a lovely night. How about I treat you to a cup of coffee?” David suggested while maintaining a professional smile.
“Who’s in the mood for coffee right now? David, get out of my way!” Hertha tried to push past him.
David didn’t budge. “Ms. Kensington, if you’re not in the mood for coffee, perhaps we shouldn’t disturb Ms. Everhart and Mr. Sinclair.”
“Do they look like they’re going for coffee?” Hertha scoffed at him.
