The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 914

Chapter 914

Thalassa shook her head, trying to dispel the whirlwind of thoughts in her mind.

Lysander was inherently deep and enigmatic, with fluctuating moods that made him inscrutable. His thoughts couldn’t be easily understood with ordinary logic.

So, when Lysander had gifted her a house, she decided to just accept it.

Accepting the house meant not only a home for Evelyn but also reassuring Lysander, making it clear to him that she had no ulterior motives.

It also provided a solid base from which to plan her eventual departure.

Thalassa arrived at the office as usual, and the day went smoothly.

After work, she returned home and began packing, telling Evelyn, “Mom, we’re moving. Lysander bought me a house, and it’s in my name. We won’t have to worry about the company taking back this place.”

Her words to Evelyn were a mix of truth and half-truths.

Indeed, Lysander had given her the other property, but the place they currently lived in wasn’t provided by the Crawley Group. It was a legacy from Leopold.

This wasn’t something she could share with Evelyn, who had always harbored a grudge about her past with Leopold, who was now deceased.

Knowing how considerate Leopold had been to Thalassa might stir unwanted feelings in Evelyn.

“What did you say? Lysander bought you a house?” Evelyn asked, her voice laced with surprise.

Thalassa nodded calmly, continuing to pack clothes into a suitcase. “Yes, he came over last night just to tell me about it.” “Do you think… maybe he’s starting to have feelings for you?” Evelyn leaned in, hope flickering in her eyes as she scrutinized Thalassa.

Thalassa didn’t look up, focusing on her task and replying, “Mom, let’s just appreciate the present. No need to overthink.” Lysander had been clear the night before – åside from the Mrs. Sinclair title, she could ask for anything else.

But the title of Mrs. Sinclair was off-limits. His repeated warnings against her harboring any matrimonial hopes had been crystal clear. If she hadn’t grasped his intentions by now, she’d be a fool.

He was simply indulging his possessiveness and control, still caught up in the novelty of their relationship. He wanted her to remain his lover.

“Ah, well, you’re right. Let’s focus on the present,” Evelyn sighed, aware that marrying into high society was no simple matter. Even if Thalassa had given Lysander four children, lacking a pedigree and connections meant the Sinclair family would never truly accept her.

Back when Grandma Sybil was alive, there might have been a chance, given Sybil’s sensible nature. However, since her passing, the odds of Thalassa marrying Lysander had dwindled even further.

“He owes you that much, for the children and everything else. It’s the least he can do,” Evelyn consoled herself and Thalassa.

Deep down, Evelyn felt a knot of unease. Thalassa and Lysander’s current status was neither that of lovers nor strangers. They were the most familiar strangers, and that was the most disheartening part.

Evelyn helped Thalassa pack, and soon everything was ready to go.
