Chapter 969
The chill in the air was enough to freeze a soul in place.
Callum faced him squarely and said, “Do you have any idea what Thalassa just went through? She was kidnapped, nearly destroyed. If I hadn’t arrived in the nick of time, she’d be ruined by now!”
His expression darkened as he addressed Lysander.
Lysander’s gaze swept the room, catching sight of the discarded ropes and the tape that had been used to silence her.
Tightening his hold around Thalassa’s waist, he gritted his teeth and said to Callum, “Quite the coincidence, you being here. I’ll be looking into this, rest assured!”
With that, he turned, Thalassa in tow.
Coming back to her senses, Thalassa, though weak, tried to push away from Lysander’s firm grip around her waist.
“Let go of me. I can walk on my own.”
Lysander’s grip tightened slightly, and he gave her a piercing, icy look that could stop anyone dead in their tracks.
His eagle-like gaze was sharp enough to cleave through Thalassa’s resolve.
She faltered, all the grievances she held bottled up inside, unable to voice her pain or vent her frustrations.
Exiting the hotel room with Thalassa, Lysander commanded his bodyguard, “Lock down all the exits. Everyone gets searched. The kidnapper does not get away with this!”
“Understood!” the bodyguard replied, taking the order.
Lysander’s men, demonstrating remarkable efficiency, promptly closed off all exits at the hotel. The hotel manager, visibly anxious, approached, awaiting Lysander’s instructions.
The shifty-looking man was soon brought forward, kneeling and shaking like a leaf before Lysander.
“Where did he touch you?” Lysander asked, his deep and steady gaze falling on Thalassa.
“Mr. Sinclair, please, I’ll never do it again, I swear…” the man babbled, his legs quivering, realizing the gravity of the man before him.
Upon seeing the man, Thalassa felt a wave of nausea; he was one of Bruce’s cronies, a scoundrel who had caused untold harm.
He had to be punished, or he would just continue to prey on others.
Taking a deep breath to suppress the disgust and anger swirling inside her, Thalassa said, “He… he held me.”
She felt Lysander’s arm around her waist tense at her words.
His aura turned chilling, and with a frosty glare at the man at his feet, he ordered in a tone devoid of warmth, “For kidnapping and indecency, caught in the act… break his hands and throw him in jail, where he’ll spend the rest of his days.”
