Betty had relatives visiting from Xelora, and they had como Baumond to see her.
That morning, just as Celeste finished a meeting, Betty called and asked her to come over for lunch with them.
She stood by the elevator, waiting, when Joseph Lockridge the newly hired general manager of YodaVision- walked over with Trevor and Jacob,
Upon seeing her, Joseph greeted her, “Ms. Rodriguez.”
Celeste gave a slight nod.
Joseph wasn’t sure whether Trevor and Celeste knew each her. He only knew that despite Trevor being at YodaVision for several days discussing a collaboration, he and Celeste had never crossed paths
Seeing that Celeste didn’t greet Trevor, Joseph assumed they weren’t acquainted. So, he introduced them.
“Ms. Rodriguez, this is Mr. Fleming of Fleming Group.”
Then, he turned to Trevor and said, “This is Ms. Rodriguez from YodaVision’s R&D department.”
Without looking at Trevor, Celeste simply said, “I know.”
Trevor, however, glanced at her and told Joseph, “No need for introductions- we know each other quite well.”
Joseph paused, looking between the two.
“You know each other well? Sorry, but I don’t see it.”
He didn’t say it aloud, though. Instead, he gave an awkward laugh. “Oh, I see.”
Celeste remained silent.
Trevor chuckled lightly but didn’t say anything more.
At this point, Joseph finally realized–Celeste simply didn’t want to acknowledge Trevor. That made her just like
Matthias.
He wasn’t sure if there was some unresolved grudge between Trevor, Celeste, and Matthias
But, Trevor wasn’t just anybody.
The company was about to collaborate with him, yet both Celeste and Matthias treated him with this distant, indifferent attitude. And what was even stranger–Trevor didn’t seem to mind at all.
Thinking about it, Joseph wasn’t sure if he should be relieved or worried.
Just as he was about to break the silence, Trevor’s phone rang.
He answered, “You’ve arrived? I’ll be right down.”
After hanging up, they stepped into the elevator.
Joseph smiled and said, “Ms. Locket is here to pick you up for lunch again? You two have a great relationship.”
Trevor smiled and was about to respond when his phone rang again. Seeing it was an important ca continue speaking.
When the
the elevator reached the ground floor, Celeste walked out without a backward glance.

As soon as she stepped outside and reached the parking lot, she saw Wynn standing by a car, waiting
Their eyes met
Wynn’s gaze was cold and indifferent.
Celeste quickly looked away and walked toward her own car
Wynn also shifted her gaze away. Only when she spotted Trevor coming out of the building did her eyes softer
As Celeste got into her car, she happened to see Wynn handing her car keys to Jacob before getting into Trevor’s car with him.
Celeste withdrew her gaze and drove off, leaving them behind in her rearview mirror.
At the restaurant, after finishing lunch, Celeste escorted Betty’s guests into their car and watched them leave. Just as she was about to get into her own car to return to work, she saw Jorge stepping out of the restaurant.
The moment he saw her, his brows instinctively furrowed.
The last time he had seen her was when Trevor had gone to YodaVision to find her. He didn’t know if things between them had progressed further, but he had heard that Trevor and YodaVision were now collaborating
Would that give Celeste and Trevor an opportunity to rekindle something?
He didn’t voice his thoughts, but the moment he saw her, his furrowed brows gave them away.
Without greeting him, Celeste simply got into her car and drove off.
Jorge also returned to his company.
His collaboration with the Locket family was already in discussion.
At around 3:00 pm, his secretary walked in and said, “Mr. Robinson, Ms. Locket is here.”
Jorge paused. “Ms. Locket?”
“Yes,” his secretary replied. “She said Mr. Locket has caught a cold, so she’s here on his behalf to discuss the collaboration with you.”
Hearing this, a flicker of excitement flashed in Jorge’s eyes. He immediately stood up and strode toward the meeting room.
Upon seeing him, Wynn immediately apologized, “I’m sorry. My father isn’t feeling well, so for this collaboration
Jorge cut her off with a smile. “It’s fine.”
Wynn didn’t miss the hint of joy in his eyes. She smiled slightly and simply withdrew her gaze.
After discussing the collaboration, Jorge seized the opportunity and asked, “Ms. Locket, do you have time later? Would you like to have dinner together?”
Wynn smiled and shook her head. “I have a race coming up, so I need to head to the track for train dinner another time.”
Let’s do
Jorge knew Wynn was a racer. But ever since he met her, she hadn’t participated in any competitions
