Avery decided to close her eyes and turn around with her back facing Cayden. She then proceeded to count sheep in her mind.
One sheep, two sheep, three sheep... When she counted to the twenty-third sheep, she could feel Cayden pressing up against her from the back.
His coarse and warm big hand circled her thin waist and found the strap of her nightgown. Thereafter, he reached into the nightgown through the gap between the strap.
Avery was sleeping on her side. She couldn't help curling her legs when her waist was caressed continuously by his warm hand.
It just so happened that the moment she lifted her leg, her bottom was in a curvy position as well.
As her bottom was in close proximity to Cayden's body, she could feel a protruded part of his body bunting her bottom.
“What are you doing?” Avery frowned slightly. She did not have the mood to mess around with him that night.
The bedroom was quiet and dark. Once they got used to it, they were able to see the moonlight shining through the window. Cayden propped his elbow on the pillow and sat up halfway to look at the woman who was still lying on her side. Then, he leaned over and planted a kiss on her fair cheek before saying, “The doctor advised me to spend more time exercising with you. Otherwise, your hypoglycemia won't get better.”
“Exercise...” Avery's mind went blank.
I believe the exercise that the doctor has mentioned must be something like jogging. There's no way it's the kind of “exercise” that Cayden is hoping to do right now.
When it came to sex, Avery was diffident and reserved. Cayden, on the other hand, was spoiled. Whenever he felt like doing it, he would force her to do it with him no matter what.
It was as if he was possessed. No matter how Avery tried to refuse, her efforts would be in vain.
“You can sleep better after you get tired from the “exercise.” This can prevent you from overthinking and not being able to sleep.” While he was coaxing her, his hands began roaming around without her consent before lifting her nightgown.
Avery's fair skin reflected the pale moonlight in the dark.
Before they engaged in a passionate moment that night, she had no idea that when men had desires, they could come up with numerous absurd but legitimate excuses just to have their way.
He claimed that it was for her own good, but in reality, it was only to satisfy his lustful desire.
Cayden kissed the woman underneath him throughout that long night. They would kiss for a short while every single time and would pause from time to time before he sealed her mouth with another bout of passionate, ferocious kisses.
Avery panted heavily and knew that he was worried that her hypoglycemic symptoms would act up again and she might faint.
Fortunately, she did not faint.
Finally, Cayden let out a low growl and stopped. Avery took a long time to recover before pushing him away. “Get off me...”
Glancing at the woman, who was bashfully covering her face, he said, “I can see the old you right now. The one when we were still studying. For some reason, you're quite reserved. Are you shy?”
“Shy in terms of what?” She understood what he was talking about but didn't think he was talking about their activity in bed.
Cayden caressed the delicate skin on her waist. “In terms of your behavior and just now as well. How many times have we slept together? The marks I left on your body are more legitimate than the seal you get at City Hall. Moreover, you are the one who gave birth to our children. What reason do you have to still be reserved?”
She contemplated his words.
He then continued, “Don't take the issue of you being reserved in bed to heart. I actually love seeing you blush every now and then.”
The redness on her face grew more intense when she heard what he said.
“I still think that everything that has happened is so surreal.”
Cayden furrowed his brows and silently gestured for her to continue talking.
Avery spoke what was on her mind. “Perhaps people from a poor family like me are different from people like you. I always think that you're out of reach because you're too high and mighty. I can't seem to get close to you. Even when I'm finally able to get acquainted with you someday, I'd think it's just you accommodating me by putting down your pride. I can't really explain it, but come to think of it, I still think everything's surreal.”
Cayden did not know why Avery had such a sense of insecurity, but he reckoned it might be because he was not doing a good enough job.
Otherwise, she would feel perfectly secure.
However, he understood the reason behind Avery's insecurity.
From the moment he returned to the Moore residence, he had gotten used to the complicated relationships between a man and a woman in a wealthy family. Plenty of women felt insecure in such unhealthy relationships.
In such situations, the man was usually the reason that the woman was insecure.
While thinking about ways to comfort her and improve her state of mind, Cayden straightened his waist and thrust his staff into her. Amidst her yelp of surprise, he said, “How about this? Can you feel how real this is?”
In the end, she was rendered absolutely drained by him after an extended period of experiencing how real and palpable he was.
Afterward, it was a dreamless night for her. She was so tuckered out that she slept soundly.
When she woke up the next morning, the two children had already packed their bags and finished their homework. They didn't forget to hop into the bedroom to help their mother out.
In fact, the young Rory even helped her mother squeeze the toothpaste.
Avery's spirits were lifted. Though she had lost Leonardo, she still had to live her life. Zachary and Rory were the best cure for her wounded soul.
When it was time, Xavier came by to send the two children to school.
Avery was busy the whole morning. After making breakfast, she helped the children with their outfits and shoes. She was finally done busying around at eight-thirty in the morning.
Cayden stood at the entrance of the kitchen and said, “Stop washing the dishes. Come over and take a rest.”
Avery continued doing the dishes. “I'm not fragile, you know? The three of you don't have to treat me this way. My hypoglycemia doesn't always act up...”
She did not want the three of them to treat her as if she was a patient.
Suddenly, Cayden appeared behind Avery. He gazed at the woman washing the dishes in front of the sink and spoke gently into her ear. “Are you sure you're not fragile? You were screaming and telling me to stop last night because you can't take it anymore. Not only that, but you were even panting heavily and biting me while claiming you were going to die.”
Clang!
The bowl she was holding dropped into the sink as his words made her heart race and her face flush.
She was in such panic that the bowl slipped from her hand.
Cayden turned her around to face him, running his hands all over her body as their bodies pressed up against each other. Then, he lowered his head and kissed her soft, rosy lips.
“Stop it...” Avery urged him to go to work quickly.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, the police arrived at the set in search of Milana. When the woman saw them, she was taken aback.
That wretched woman has decided to sue me!
Nicole's assistant, Lucy, had received a call from the police an hour ago. However, Lucy did not inform Milana about it. Instead, the former told Nicole, who was taking a short break from filming, about the incident.
That was when Nicole finally understood what had happened to Milana.
Avery's father has shockingly passed away, but Dylan is still living his life like nothing happened. He doesn't act like he had just lost his father-in-law.
With that thought in mind, Nicole decided to check on Avery after filming that day. Knowing that Avery must be devastated after her father passed away, Nicole thought the former would need someone's help managing the funeral.
Currently, Dylan, who is Avery's lawful husband, is doing nothing. I wonder who is helping her manage her father's funeral. Can Avery do it on her own?
Nicole grew even more concerned and couldn't be bothered to care about Milana's predicament.
When Milana was taken away by the police, she was cursing loudly. She yelled, “Avery, you deserve to die! You will end up the same way your father did. You're such a vile woman. You're planning to have the house all to yourself after sending me to prison, right?”
“Shut up!” scolded one of the officers before shoving her into the police car.
