The CEO Gets What He Wants novel Chapter 482

Avery stared at the “hungry” expression on Cayden's countenance with fear.

Just as she was going to reject him, she saw a pitiful expression on his handsome face.

“It's been three months since we last had sex, Ery. The doctor said we'd be able to do it after three months. I promise I'll be careful,” he persuaded.

To others, he was a cold, abstinent man. Yet, at that moment, he acted like a little hungry dog, pleading with her. It was a very striking contrast.

After recalling how Cayden had been bathing with cold water for the past few months, she finally relented.

Slowly, Avery hugged his neck and whispered, “Okay...”

Holding her tiny earlobe, he uttered in a hoarse voice, “Don't worry, I won't hurt you or the baby...”

Under his gentle and careful guidance, she felt his passion for her and his warmth, making her feel on cloud nine.

The sky was getting darker as the serene lunar glow pierced through the window and landed in the bathroom.

After they were done, Cayden carried Avery back into the bedroom.

Upon lying on the bed together, he hugged her tightly and placed her hand on his heart. “Sometimes, I may not be able to control myself when it comes to certain things. However, you must always remember that my heart only beats for you. No matter where I am, my heart will always be with you. I truly love you, and I'll never do anything that'll upset you. Please don't sulk at me in the future.”

As she felt his irregular heartbeat, she thought, I was being insensible. Even though I knew he was putting on an act, I still lost my temper with him. I shouldn't have done that!

Upon seeing an expression of self-reproach on her countenance, he grinned and pinched her nose. “Are you hungry? I'll ask someone to prepare supper for you.”

“Mhm, a little.” Avery wasn't hungry until Cayden brought that up.

Her appetite grew immensely after she got pregnant.

In response, he commanded someone to prepare supper.

Ten minutes later, he personally brought the supper into the bedroom.

He delivered a piece of soft and fluffy cake to her mouth. “Open up. It's your favorite cake.”

Just as Avery was going to accept it, she suddenly recalled an article she read on the internet. Thus, she resisted her craving and said, “No, I'll eat something lighter instead. Eating too many cakes at night isn't good for the baby.”

Cayden lifted his eyebrow with surprise.

Staring at the delectable cake, she swallowed her saliva with difficulty and explained, “An article on the internet says eating too many sweets during pregnancy will cause fetal overgrowth and hyperglycemia in pregnancy.”

Upon listening to her explanation, he shook his head in amusement. “Where did you hear that ludicrous thing from?”

“Like I said, on the internet. I've been watching lots of courses on pregnancy. They talk about what pregnant women shouldn't do and things we should pay attention to.”

“You should avoid reading and watching that nonsense on the internet. If you have questions you don't understand, you can ask Yuvan about them. This cake is specially made for you by a dietician. It tastes sweet, but the sugar content is low. It won't cause that gestational thing you mentioned.”

Avery didn't expect Cayden to be that scrupulous.

For a moment, she wasn't sure what to say. I feel so touched by his meticulous care!

When she bit into the cake, she could taste its buttery flavor. It was sweet and fragrant, which roused her appetite.

She felt sweet, but not just because of the cake.

Reflexively, she picked up a slice of cake and delivered it to the edge of his mouth. “You should eat, too.”

Cayden disliked desserts, but when he saw the sweet smile on Avery's face, he took a bite of the cake. “You're right. It is sweet.”

While he was talking about her, she thought he was referring to the cake. Thus, she uttered, “Of course.”

Cayden watched Avery finish another piece of cake before he stopped her from getting another slice.

“You shouldn't eat anymore. If you overeat during the night, you'll feel unwell. Leave the rest for tomorrow,” he reminded as though he was speaking to a child.

Obediently, she put the new slice down and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth.

Once she was done, she wormed into his embrace, kissed his cheek, and prepared to sleep.

He returned the favor by giving her an even deeper kiss. “Have you forgiven me, Ery? It's my fault for pissing you off today. If you're still angry, feel free to punch me a couple of times.”

Just as he grabbed her hand, she withdrew it and took in his natural scent. “I've already forgiven you. Besides, I'm at fault, too. I was being too temperamental. You don't need to apologize to me. We shouldn't hold grudges against each other for our quarrels.”

In response, Cayden hugged Avery tightly and affectionately.

...

Nicole visited the Moore residence early in the morning.

Her pseudo-light makeup made her look pure and younger at the first glance.

After she presented an expensive smoking pipe and a box of exquisite coffee beans to Jeffrey, she handed Allie jewelry and luxurious bags.

She also delighted the two elders with her sweet words.

As Jeffrey smoked with the pipe Nicole gave him, he stated, “There's no need for you to bring gifts whenever you visit the Moore residence. Just drop by.”

Her eyes glinted as she smiled gracefully. “It's what I should do, Old Mr. Moore. As long as you're happy with the gifts, I'm happy, too.”

Allie was beaming at the younger woman as she touched the shiny piece of jewelry. “You're so thoughtful, Nickie. You should visit here more often. Right now, Cayden's single. He needs a beautiful and sensible girlfriend like you! It'll be so nice if you can be my daughter-in-law.”

Upon concealing the meaningful look in her eyes, Nicole asked probingly, “What happened to the engagement banquet, Mdm. Allie? Why didn't Cayden succeed?”

The instant the younger woman brought that up, Allie exploded in anger. “Don't talk to me about that! Avery thoroughly embarrassed the Moore family when she suddenly changed her mind halfway through the ceremony! Unlike my son, that vixen has no right to call off the engagement! However, there's nothing you need to worry about, Nickie. If you get together with Cayden in the future, the twins living here won't affect your relationship with him. The same goes for Avery's baby, who will be raised here once she gives birth.”

What? Avery is pregnant again? Nicole was shocked to hear that.
