Rohana answered in frustration, “That bitch somehow found someone to guard him. They’ve been sticking to that old man like glue. I can’t get close enough to
make a move.‘
Lorelai flipped her long hair over her shoulder, completely unfazed. “Then get more people. Take out the
the bodyguards first, then deal with that stubborn old
reezer Easy.”
Rohana shook her head. “It’s not that simple. He lives in an old apartment complex downtown. There are cameras everywhere.”
Lorelai paused her dancing and mudged Rohana with her elbow. “If you’re really serious about this, I have an idea…”
Rohana’s interest was piqued. “What idea? Spill!”
Lorelai leaned in and whispered her plan in her ear, andnohana’s eyes lit up
Enrica slept soundly through the night. The next morning, after attending the regular team meeting at work, she got a call from Enna
Entica, you need to get back here right away. Your dad’s gone!”
Enrica’s heart clenched, “What? What do you mean he’s gone?”
Enru sounded annoyed. “How would I know where he went? He was fine when we went to bed last night, and now he’s just gone! What a freaking headache. I was supposed to go to Julian’s parent–teacher conterence today, and now this? You’re seriously messing up my plans. Just hurry up and get back here!”
Enrica hung up and rushed off to ask her supervisor for time off.
There were three teams in the sales department. Ennica was in Team Three, and their manager, Colin, was in his early 30s and known for his good temper. Tall, handsome, and with a promising career, he was quite popular in the company.
Just as Enrica knocked and entered his office, she ran into a young woman with a high ponytail coming out, her eyes reddened from crying. Enrica recognized her it was Emily, a recent graduate who had joined the company around the same time and was still an intern.
Emily gave Enrica a furious glare as she passed, saying nothing before walking off.
Enrica was confused but didn’t dwell on it. She stepped inside. “Mr. Bourn, something’s come up at home. I need to take half a day off.”
Colin looked at her with concern. “What happened? Is everything alright at home?”
Enrica forced a smile. “My dad’s missing, so …”
Colin’s expression turned serious. “That’s a big deal, Why didn’t you say something sooner? I’ll approve the time
se off right now.
After signing off on it, he glanced at his watch “Actually, I was just about to visit a client. I can drop you off on the way.”
