Chapter 1060
Rosalie was stunned. “It doesn’t matter if he loses the bet?”
“If he loses, he’ll die, but if Amelia doesn’t care about his life or death, he means nothing to her. If that’s the case, life or death doesn’t matter to
him anymore,” Jonathan replied.
Rosalie was dumbfounded. It seemed that Warren won the bet in the end. At least, although Amelia didn’t love him anymore, she was not so ruthless to the point where she didn’t care about his life.
Warren was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. Fortunately, his wounds were not deep, but he lost a lot of blood. He finally received. over 13 ounces of blood transfusion just to be safe.
However, even during the blood transfusion, Warren held Amelia’s hand tightly and refused to let go.
It was as if once he loosened his grip, he would never be able to hold her hand again.
There was no other sound in the ward besides the transfusion.
Rosalie and Jonathan had left the ward. At that moment, they were the only people in the ward.
Amelia looked at Warren and said, “Let go of me. Even if you hold my hand like this, it’s pointless.”
“I just want you to promise me that you won’t abort the child,” he said.
She was silent.
Warren exclaimed, “Amelia, you can scold, beat, or even kill me, but don’t get rid of the child, okay? You told me that Lucas was innocent and asked. me to spare him. What about the baby then? The child is innocent!”
Amelia’s body trembled suddenly. After a while, she finally spoke hoarsely, “Okay. I won’t get an abortion.”
He was surprised and asked, “Really? Are you really willing to keep the child?”
“Yes, I’m keeping the child, but Warren, I’m doing it not because of you. It’s because the baby is innocent!” she said.

“Okay, okay, I know, I know!” Warren repeated.
“Now, can you let me go?” Amelia asked..
Then, Warren slowly loosened his grip. However, he was still reluctant to let her go completely.
When Amelia left the ward, Rosalie approached her and asked, “Amelia, are you okay? What did Warren…”
“I promised him to keep the baby,” Amelia said, looking exhausted.
Hearing this, Rosalie didn’t know if she should be relieved. She couldn’t. imagine how Warren would have reacted if Amelia had been determined to get an abortion.
“I’ll take you home now then,” Rosalie said.
Amelia nodded.
The car headed for the concession stand. When Amelia arrived home, Matilda was startled by the blood stains on her clothes.
“Why is there so much blood on you? Did you get hurt? What happened?” Matilda hurriedly asked.
Amelia said tiredly, “Mom, it’s not my blood. It’s Warren’s.”
Matilda was shocked. “His blood? Did you meet him this afternoon?”
Amelia hesitated momentarily and finally decided to say, “Mom, I’m pregnant with Warren’s child!”
Matilda was stunned. “W-What did you say? You’re pregnant?”
“Yes.”
“And… it’s Warren’s child?” Her voice was out of tune at the end of her
sentence.
“Yes,” Amelia answered again.
Matilda was silent. They looked at each other.
After a long time, Matilda said, “What the hell is going on? Didn’t you say that
you
didn’t love Warren at all anymore? How could you be pregnant with his child?”
Amelia smiled bitterly. “It was just an accident. He got drunk and came to

see me. Then, I took him to the hotel room.”
Matilda could guess the rest of the story without Amelia’s explanation.
“If so, does Warren know about the child?” Matilda asked.
“Yes,” Amelia replied, telling Matilda what had happened between her and Warren earlier.
Matilda listened and secretly blamed herself.
She was a mother but failed to notice that Amelia was pregnant, not to mention the latter had vomited so many times.
At the thought of Amelia’s struggle because of the baby these days, Matilda felt even more sorry for her.
“Since you decided to give birth to the baby, let’s raise it together. The concession stand is doing well anyway, and I can do some manual work in my spare time. It won’t be a problem for an old bag of bones like me to last another ten years,” Matilda said,
Raising another child meant more financial burden. The least she could do at that moment was to lighten Amelia’s load as much as she could.
Amelia’s eyes were filled with tears. Matilda had already sacrificed so much for her.
