The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 112

Chapter 112

She then heard her past self singing “Como La Flor in a young and childish voice.

“What if we Get caught again? What if we can’t get out?” The boy’s voice echoed again.

“Silly, how could we not escape when I’m with you! I promise I’ll get us out!”

“If you leave me behind, you’d probably be able to run away,” the boy said.

“I would never leave you behind’ I said I would protect you, and I will keep my promise! I’m not afraid of those bad guys!”

“Why didn’t you leave me belund?”

“Because we are friends!” Rosalie heard herself saying

“Ah!” Rosalie’s eyes suddenly snapped open, and she sat up straight on the bed immediately. As her eyes adjusted, they were met with a dimly lit room.

She found herself back in her rental home.

Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at the time. It was only three o’clock in the morning

“Was I dreaming?” she wondered. It seemed she had dreamt of her younger self conversing with a boy, and she even sang Selena Quintanilla’s “Como La Flor.”

She thought. “Goodness gracious, why would I have such a dream? Is it because I listened to “Como La Flor” so many times in Calvin’s car just then that I dream of myself singing it at night?”

However, the scene in the dream felt so real as if it had really happened before.

Meanwhile, in the Gunner residence, one of the rooms was still illuminated. Calvin sat in front of a painting and looked at it quietly.

The canvas depicted a little girl carrying a boy through a forest filled with thorns.

His fingers slowly slid across the little girl’s face on the canvas as he whispered, “When will I see you again?”

His whispers were tinged with nostalgia, regret, sorrow, and indescribable pain.

Some people and some memories wouldn’t fade with time. Instead, they became even more vivid, evolving into an obsession.

Two days later. Daniel called Rosalie, pressing her to pay a quarter of the medical bills. After thinking about it for a while, Rosalie called Lillian for help.

“Lillian, can you lend me 1,500 dollars? It’s a bit urgent. I won’t be able to repay you immediately, but I can pay you back little by little every month.” Rosalie spoke hesitantly. After all, the last thing she wanted was to trouble Lillian.

Lillian had done too much for her, but she couldn’t repay her with anything.

“Okay, I’ll transfer the money directly to you on my phone, Lillian agreed without hesitation.

“Thank you” Rosalie gently spoke her words of gratitude.

“Rosalie, there’s no need to say thank you. You don’t have to pay back the money in a hurry either. You can pay back when you have enough money said Lillian.

Although Lillian said so, Rosalie still wanted to pay back the money as soon as possible.

She couldn’t owe Lillian too much.

Therefore, when Yulissa asked her if she wanted to take up another part-time job, Rosalie hurriedly agreed.

As Yulissa sad the part-time job was to be a background actor. She just needed to register her name and leave her phone number without needing background checks.

The pay was 16 dollars a day, and lunch would be provided. If the shooting time were to be extended, dinner would also be provided, but the pay would not be increased.

According to Yulissa, since Rosalie was free on weekends, she could work as a background actor and earn extra money. After all, she would be paid on a day-to-day basis.

If there was work available every weekend of the month, she could earn more than 400 dollars by the end of the month

Four hundred dollars might not mean much to others. However, for Rosalie, it was good enough.

After work, Rosalie glanced at the completed gloves and called Jonathan “The gloves are ready. Should I bring them over, or would you like to send someone to pick them up?

“Tll come to pick them up,” Jonathan said

“Okay,” she answered and went back to the rental home. After dinner, she put her gloves on the table and took out a copy of the case file about the accident that Lillian had given her. It included witness statements back then and photocopies of various pieces of evidence from the accident scene.

Looking at the contents, Rosalie felt bitter helplessness. Among those pieces of evidence, there were even photographs of the wine bottle and wine glass she had supposedly used that night, with her DNA detected at the rim of the glass.

It was ridiculous. She had never drunk, but her DNA appeared on the wine glass. She had no way to debunk the evidence.

She didn’t know who was behind this plot against her. As for Melanie’s situation, she had no idea what had really happened either. Even if someone wanted to harm her, Melanie had lost her life too! Could they have wanted to harm Melanie and therefore made her the scapegoat?

In any case, after spending three years in jail, she still could never figure out who bore such a deep grudge against her. Besides, it was beyond her current reach to find out who might have had conflicts with Melanie.

Right at this moment, someone in the WhatsApp group chat on Rosalie’s phone tagged everyone.

Rosalie looked at it and realized it was the group chat of the background actors she had just joined today. The organizer tagged all the members of the group chat to inform them about the time, place, name of the film crew, number of people needed, and requirements for the next job.
