Chapter 1135
Matilda, after all, knew how much pain Amelia had endured.
If anyone deserved to be pitied, her daughter deserved it even more than Warren.
“All right, Mom, you should go to bed early,” Amelia said.
When she saw Matilda return to her room, she gently lowered her gaze, covering her chest with her hand and sighing bitterly.
Since her return, her thoughts had been consumed by the scene she witnessed in Warren’s office, with Alicia leaning on him.
She was suspicious of what she saw because Alicia had previously had little to no contact with Warren. Despite that, she felt a suffocating sensation in her chest and a strong desire to rush forward and separate
them.
“What was wrong with me? I shouldn’t care about this!” she exclaimed secretly.
Her marriage to Warren was merely a marriage of convenience, and they had already agreed to divorce before they even married.
Even if Warren had been with another woman instead of Alicia that day, she should not have felt anything.
Even though she told herself that, she could not let it go.
“Is it because I discovered today that Warren was storing blood for me that my emotions are jumbled? I should stop thinking about it!” she commented inwardly.
The image of Warren’s face kept flashing in Amelia’s mind throughout the entire night, despite the repeated reminders she gave herself.
On the day of the parent-child meeting, Amelia made an effort to present herself well. She wore a canary-yellow long dress instead of her usual dark attire. She still wore her hair in a ponytail, but she used a new hairpin. Besides that, she also wore sneakers and a white mohair cardigan, giving her a younger and more fashionable appearance.
When Aiden saw his mother in the morning, he could not help but exclaim, “Mommy, you look so pretty!”

Amelia smiled in response. Despite the fact that she knew her son would not judge her by her appearance, she still dressed up for him, not wanting to embarrass him.
All she wanted was to be a better mother for her son.
After breakfast, Amelia checked the time and wondered when Warren would arrive.
When she opened the door, she was surprised to see Warren standing outside.
“Why are you standing here without knocking?” Amelia asked.
Warren seemed a bit embarrassed as he replied, “I was afraid that I might disturb you.”
“Next time, just knock on the door,” Amelia replied.
Warren’s expression changed slightly when he heard “next time,” but he quickly reminded himself not to overthink it. The more he thought about it, the more disappointed he would be in the end.
He reasoned that he should have figured that out by then.
“So, are we going to Aiden’s school now?” Warren inquired.
“Yes,” Amelia replied.
Warren’s gaze fell on Aiden, and he said, “Let’s go, Aiden.”
Aiden looked at Warren, paused for a moment, and then called out, “Daddy.”
Although it was only one word, it made Warren smile, and tears were welling in his eyes.
At that moment, he was content. After all, despite his mistakes in the past, Aiden was still willing to acknowledge him as his father.
Amelia’s eyes were drawn to the scene, and her gaze flickered slightly.
Following that, the three of them arrived at Aiden’s school. It was especially lively that day because of the parent-child meeting. Parents were busy accompanying their children to their respective classrooms.
Each class had planned different activities based on a specific theme for the parent-child meeting. One class created haunted houses complete

with sound and visual effects to liven up the atmosphere, with students and parents dressed as various spooky characters.
There was also a class that created escape rooms and another that created a candy house where students served visitors snacks and treats.
As for Aiden’s class, they set up a time-travel beverage shop. They were selling various drinks, and the money used to purchase those beverages was taken from the class funds. The beverages themselves were supplied at the purchase price from Amelia’s concession stand.
Then, everyone decided on the selling prices for various beverages, and it was the responsibility of the students and parents in the class to act as waiters.
Because some of the students’ parents worked in the film and television industry and handled background actor costume rentals, they had access to a variety of costumes that the class could borrow that day.
Hence, the students in the class could choose costumes from various time periods and styles based on their preferences. Both children and adults would then dress up in the costumes and walk around the classroom, which had been transformed into a beverage shop, creating the illusion of time travel and an interesting yet chaotic atmosphere.
Based on their student ID, parents and students would take turns acting as waiters, with each shift lasting approximately half an hour. After their shift, they had a half-hour break to explore the school campus, visit other classes to buy food and drinks, or participate in various activities.
In short, the school’s parent-child meeting was planned in the style of a carnival, with the goal of increasing interaction between adults and children, strengthening parent-child relationships, and enhancing the rapport between students and parents within the class.
Because Aiden’s student ID was at the front, Amelia and Warren were in the first group acting as waiters.
There were a total of 13 people, including eight parents and five students, who played the role of waiters.
The group then started picking out the props and costumes they wished
to wear.
