The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 114

Chapter 114

“Yes” Rosalie said firmly. “For me, the truth is more important than anything else!”

“It’s been three years since these things happened. Even if there is any evidence, such as the surveillance footage, it has long disappeared. It’s very difficult to reverse the verdict for you, let alone to find out the truth,” Jonathan said.

Rosalie smiled wryly as she realized what Jonathan meant. He just wanted to help her overturn the case and didn’t care about the truth. It didn’t matter to him why Melanie crashed her car herself that day, or what she was thinking about.

Jonathan didn’t have any feelings for Melanie. Thus, even if Melanie died, what he lost was just a suitable candidate for a marriage of convenience.

Jonathan, you don’t love Melanie at all. Rosalie said with affirmation suddenly.

Jonathan lowered his eyes slightly and said. “I never said I loved her

“So, who do you love?” The moment Rosalie asked that question, an answer appeared in Jonathan’s mind in an instant.

Jonathan stared at Rosalie in a daze for a moment. After a while, he calmed down and said, “Who would you like me to love, Rosie?”

Rosalie suddenly felt that she had asked a silly question. “Why did I ask him that? What’s more, this man deals with marriage like a trade. I’m afraid he won’t fall in love with anyone for the rest of his life,” she muttered inwardly.

“Sorry. I shouldn’t have asked that” Rosalie narrowed her eyes slightly and said. “Anyway, you don’t have to appeal for me. I will figure it out myself” She decided to find out the truth in her way. It might take a long time, but it wasn’t infeasible.

“Are you sure?” Jonathan stared at Rosalie and said, “Okay, then I shall see what you can do. But, if you change your mind. and want to overturn the case regardless of the truth, you’re welcome to come to me anytime. I will definitely help you.”

“Why do you want to help me?” Rosalie looked at Jonathan in puzzlement. Judging from his expression, she was certain that he wasn’t just passing a casual remark but rather seriously intended to overturn the verdict for her.

Still. Rosalie found it strange. Since she refused Jonathan in the hospital before, she assumed the latter would probably want something from her in exchange for his help. She asked, “Do you want me to do anything, or agree to any conditions?”

There are no conditions, and you don’t need to do anything” Jonathan said. “Just think of it as compensation for you.”

“Compensation?” Rosalie was confused.

“Back then, you suffered a lot in jail because of me. I should compensate you somehow. So, I will appeal for you any time you like. Jonathan said.

Jonathan’s promise was like a huge temptation, causing Rosalie’s determination and decision to waver.

Once the verdict was reversed, Rosalie would no longer have any criminal record. It also meant that she could get back her lawyer’s license and remain a lawyer.

However, if she couldn’t prove herself innocent and clear her name definitely, she might not be able to hold her head up in

court in the future.

What made Rosalie feel ridiculous was that no one in her family, relatives, or former colleagues had ever wanted to appeal for her.

Her close friend, the only one who had attempted to turn over the case for her, said helplessly. “Rosalie, I’m afraid that your case has little chance of being overturned, and no one dares to appeal for you anyway. No lawyer wants to take the case, let alone to find evidence in your favor.”

When Rosalie was in prison, she ate and slept in uneasiness every day, feeling scared to the bone of a certain man. She couldn’t help shuddering whenever the name of that man was mentioned. Now, the same man turned out to be the one who offered to appeal for her at any time.

It was like an ironic twist in life.

In the end,Rosalie didn’t say a word. Instead, she walked to the drawer and took out a pair of gloves, which she then handed to Jonathan “This is the glove that I promise you”

Jonathan scrutinized the gloves carefully before trying them on “They are well-knitted and feel warm, just like this scarf you knitted for me, which is comfortable to wear and keeps me warm”

“Actually, you don’t have to wear the scarf People will think that it doesn’t match your attire, anyway,” Rosalie said Jonathan’s high-end costume only made the scarf appear old-fashioned, cheap, and rough.

“Is it not matching?” Jonathan slightly raised his eyebrows and chuckled. “Rosie, I never care about what others think as long as I feel right. Just like this scarf, if I say it’s matching, then it is!”

After a pause, Jonathan stroked the scarf again as he said, “What’s more, as long as you are the one who knitted it, the scarf will match any kind of garment”

Rosalie’s heart suddenly beat violently. If it had been others who said that, it would have sounded ridiculous. But when it was Jonathan who said it, it was just like a matter of fact.

At that moment, Jonathan’s handsome face looked sincere. It was as if the scarf Rosalie had knitted was a priceless treasure to

him.
