The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1146

Chapter 1146

Upon hearing that, Rosalie had no choice but to nod. “All right!”

Before Lillian left, she told Amelia. “Amelia, don’t hesitate to call Rosalie or me if you need anything. Please don’t be shy!”

“Okay, I won’t hesitate.” Amelia smiled gratefully, and her eyes welled up

with tears.

She knew it was all thanks to the Youngblood family and the White family that the police found her so quickly.

In this lifetime, she felt blessed to have such wonderful friends.

After Rosalie, Lillian, Jonathan, and Callum left the ward, Amelia looked at Warren and murmured, “Do you realize that with each sacrifice you make, I owe you more? Warren, how can I ever repay you?”

Their relationship was like an entangled mess. Things would get even more complicated just when she thought they were about to sort it out.

The white bandages on his neck, chest, and hands stung her eyes.

Perhaps she and Warren would always be intertwined.

When Matilda and Aiden arrived at the hospital, they saw Amelia sitting by Warren’s bed, lost in thought.

Perhaps Matilda had already known the situation here before she came, so she was not surprised but was filled with deep compassion.

Meanwhile, Aiden observed the unconscious Warren, who lay on the bed.

“Mommy, did Daddy get hurt? Is that why he won’t wake up?” Aiden asked.

“Yes, he had surgery and will wake up later,” Amelia answered.

“Why did Daddy get so many injuries? Was that bad person strong?” Aiden asked.

Amelia gently stroked Aiden’s head and replied, “It’s not that the bad person was strong, but because he wanted to protect me.” Otherwise, he would not have sustained such severe injuries.

Upon hearing that, Aiden looked at Warren before he hugged Amelia. “I want to grow up quickly to protect you and my siblings.”

Amelia wanted to say more, but Matilda interrupted, “Enough, don’t talk too much. Your neck is injured. Talk when you’re feeling better.”

Amelia’s injuries required two more days of observation. Due to her neck injury, she had oatmeal for dinner. Meanwhile, Aiden and Matilda planned to leave after Amelia finished her meal.

Before they left, Aiden ran to Warren’s room to say goodbye.

Even though Warren was still in a coma.

Matilda looked at Amelia. She had learned about the rescue operation from the police and felt grateful for Warren’s actions.

“It’s all thanks to Warren. You might have suffered even more if it weren’t for him. And the baby… Who knows what would have happened,” she said, shuddering at the thought.

If the police were late, Amelia would not be in front of her now.

“Mm,” Amelia responded.

“Think about it. How many people would go to such lengths for another person? He made many mistakes, but… This is probably enough,” Matilda murmured.

She had resented Warren, but now she felt sympathy for him.

What was important was when she arrived at the hospital and saw Amelia sitting by Warren’s bedside, the way she gazed at him with such intensity.

She thought, “If Amelia truly had no feelings for Warren, why would she gaze at him like that?”

In her gaze, there was a struggle and lingering affection.

A mother knew her daughter best. Matilda knew Warren was likely imprinted on Amelia for life.

Even if Amelia claimed not to love him, there was probably some love hidden within her, something she refused to acknowledge.

After Matilda and Aiden left, Amelia continued to stay in Warren’s ward.

Warren was in a deep sleep. The doctors said that due to the excessive blood loss he suffered earlier, even after the anesthesia wore off, there was a high chance he might still sleep for several hours or even more

before waking up.

She wondered, “When will he wake up?”

His face looked so pale, exuding a sense of fragility.

It was as if he could disappear at any time.

Amelia’s heart suddenly trembled. Almost instinctively, she gently touched his pale cheek to confirm he was alive and breathing.

His cheek was ice-cold, and when she touched it, she involuntarily gasped.

The coldness felt like that of a corpse.

He had sacrificed so much and shed so much blood for her today.

The icy sensation pricked her heart like a needle, sending her painful throbs.

As if he could sense the warmth of her hand, Warren’s eyelashes quivered slightly, and a faint moan escaped his lips.

Amelia froze, gazing at Warren as his eyes slowly opened. She even forgot to retract her hand.
