Chapter 1154
She gently pulled his hand away, saying, “Okay, I really need to go back nów. Have a good rest.”
“I’ll let someone take you home,” he offered.
“Your mom has arranged for a driver to take me home. Don’t worry,” Amelia said.
After she walked out of the ward, the smile on her face finally disappeared.
If Warren had not stopped her, she would have told him she wanted to start over with him.
Maybe the chances were gone forever after we missed out.
Maybe I would never have the chance to say the words I didn’t speak out today.
Should I have blamed myself for loving too shallowly, or him for loving me too deeply?
As Mrs. York had said, Warren could risk his life for me, but I might not be able to do so. I have too many ties and have long stopped obsessing over love.
If we stop here, perhaps it’s better for both of us.
He doesn’t need to be so obsessed with me and can have a fresh start.
This way, he wouldn’t disregard his own life or struggle miserably for my sake. He also wouldn’t need to turn his pride into humility for me,’ Amelia thought.
Amelia smiled bitterly and exited the hospital.
Warren and she would ultimately go down the original path that was established. These past few days were only an interlude within their
years.
Amelia visited Warren every day for the next few days, bringing him all kinds of home-cooked food. She would also share with him pictures and videos of Aiden on her phone with him.
Everything seemed so peaceful and happy.

Chapter 1154
However, only Amelia knew this might be their last peaceful moment while Warren was in the hospital.
The day he was discharged from the hospital would be the day she would give him the answer.
“Okay, I’m going back now,” Amelia said to Warren as she packed her stuff.
“Can you go back after I’ve fallen asleep? I want you to stay with me for a little longer,” he requested, behaving coquettishly like a child.
No matter how mature and composed he usually was, he could not help but act like a child in front of his beloved woman.
“Okay,” Amelia responded, sitting back in the chair beside the hospital bed. “Lie down quickly and sleep well.”
Warren obediently lay in bed but did not close his eyes. Instead, his eyes were fixed on Amelia.
“What? Aren’t you going to sleep?” she asked.
“It’s just that the past few days felt like a dream,” he said. After all, he previously never dared to imagine she would sit by his bedside and accompany him until he fell asleep. He continued, “Amelia, do you think I’m dreaming?”
Her heart skipped a beat. “No, you aren’t dreaming.”
A smile appeared on his face. “Then, do you think I can get the answer I want?”
Amelia was silent, slightly clenching her hands resting on her knee.
“The answer… I can never give him the answer he wants,” she thought.
He reached out, held her cold hands, and said apologetically, “I’m not trying to push you. I simply yearn for it too much. I told you I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes. I’ll wait until you’re willing.”
He would wait until she truly wanted to be with him.
She took a deep breath. “I’ll give you my answer after you’re discharged from the hospital, okay?”
Hearing this, a trace of joy flashed across Warren’s eyes. Even his voice became slightly ecstatic as he said, “Okay, I’ll wait for that day for your

answer.”
“Then, you should sleep well first. Otherwise, the doctor may postpone your discharge,” Amelia said.
“If so, I’ll have to ask the doctor to approve my discharge from the hospital as soon as possible,” Warren joked. This time, he closed his eyes, and the bitterness in Amelia’s eyes went unnoticed.
“The sooner he gets discharged from the hospital, the shorter the
peaceful days between us would be,” she thought.
After Warren fell asleep, Amelia carefully withdrew her hand and left the ward.
As soon as she got out of the ward, she ran into Lydia.
“I’m taking my leave, Mrs. York,” Amelia said politely.
“I hope you didn’t forget your promise to me, Ms. Haab,” Lydia reminded her.
Amelia said indifferently, “I won’t forget it. Since I’ve agreed to you, I won’t break my promise. However…”
She paused and looked directly at Lydia. “I do this not because you asked me to, but because I also hope he could live peacefully.”
With that said, Amelia turned around and left.
Lydia looked at Amelia’s silhouette eyes.
With conflicted emotions in her After a while, she let out a long sigh.
When Amelia returned to the shop, Matilda was there. “Didn’t you say you planned to get together with Warren two days ago? I was thinking that since his mom is here in Strico, why don’t I accompany you to the hospital tomorrow and meet his mom to discuss the two of you,” Matilda said to her daughter.
“Mom,” Amelia interrupted her mother. “Warren and I won’t have
