Chapter 1160
After nearly 20 minutes of rinsing, Rosalie thought it was almost done. Then she turned off the faucet and carefully dried Amelia’s hand. She asked, “Do you have any scald ointment here? It’s better to apply it, or your hands will have blisters, which will hurt badly.”
“Yes, I will do it later,” Amelia said.
“Let me help you apply it first. Where’s the first aid kit?” Rosalie asked. After Amelia answered, she found out the scald ointment and applied it to Amelia.
“Well, I’m fine now. It’s getting late. You can go back first,” Amelia said.
Rosalie looked at the time. It was almost time to pick up her children from kindergarten, so she said, “Okay, I’m leaving now. Don’t touch water for two hours.”
“Okay, got it,” Amelia said.
When Rosalie left, Amelia stared at the back of her red and swollen hand
in sorrow.
She thought about how she was the one who pushed Warren out of
Strico.
When she was young and ignorant, she only thought that as long as they were in love, nothing would stop them.
When she grew up, she realized some things just weren’t meant to be.
Clatter! Clatter!
Drops of water kept dripping on the back of her hand that had just been plastered, making it wet.
Amelia was stunned for a while before realizing it was her tears. She cried again. She couldn’t help but wonder if it was because of Warren’s
departure or their superficial love.
Tears kept running down her face.
She told herself not to cry because it was terrible for the baby.
Additionally, Aiden was about to finish school, and her mother was about to return from shopping.

However, her tears were still falling, as if there was no end to it.
At night, Aiden fell asleep. Looking at the red swelling on her daughter’s hand, Matilda couldn’t help saying, “You’ve been absent-minded these days. How about you stop working for a few days and rest?”
“That’s not a great idea. If we shut down for a few days, someone else might steal our business. It’ll be challenging to attract customers back to our stand once we reopen,” Amelia remarked.
“That’s…” Matilda was interrupted by a loud, pounding knock on the door as she spoke.
The two looked at each other. After all, it was so late that few people would knock on the door.
They walked to the door. Amelia glanced through the peephole and saw it was Ryan outside.
Ryan was knocking on the door more loudly, shouting, “Open the door! I have something important to say. Open the door. I’ll leave as soon as I tell you. I won’t waste your time…”
Amelia frowned and said through the door, “Ryan, I’ve already told you I won’t see Alicia. She doesn’t have to say anything to me. The court will judge her accordingly!”
Amelia had no desire to show kindness when Alicia framed her.
Moreover, since Alicia had tried to harm Amelia’s child, it’s no surprise that Amelia couldn’t forgive her.
When Ryan heard Amelia’s words, he didn’t leave. Instead, he said something to her.
Amelia was shocked, and her pupils unconsciously contracted when she heard that. Then she suddenly opened the door and stared at Ryan. “How do
you know about Riley? Did Alicia tell you about that?”
Ryan immediately said, “Yes, she told me that if you want to know about Riley, meet her at the detention center. She says she knows where Riley
is.”
Although Ryan didn’t know who Riley was, he could tell Riley was someone important based on Amelia’s and Alicia’s reactions.
Ryan was thinking back to his exchange with Alicia, starting with her saying, “If you tell her I know where Riley is, she’ll visit me!”

“Who is Riley?” he asked curiously.
However, Alicia just looked at him with a sneer. “Ryan, I want to leave while you want to get your family out of trouble. In that case, we can cooperate. You don’t need to ask more about the rest of it. You aren’t the man I want to cling to anymore!”
Ryan stopped upon noticing he couldn’t get anything out of Alicia.
After all, he was just a message boy.
Amelia’s expression shifted as she went silent.
Ryan asked cautiously, “Ms. Haab, you’ll attend, won’t you? Alicia said if you don’t go, you might end up regretting it. It seems Riley is going through a tough time.”
Amelia took a deep breath and looked at the person in front of her coldly. “Don’t come to me again. I will go to the detention center. What Alicia and I will do when we meet will be of no concern to you.”
